Camp Bailey

The tradition of playoff hockey makes for some interesting lifestyle choices. For players on the 16 participating teams, razors and shaving cream are locked away in the medicine cabinet. For Bailey, the playoffs mean crashing in a camper at L.A. Live and playing bubble hockey against passersby in between viewings of The Lion King and Miracle.

It’s a tradition started this year by the Los Angeles Kings mascot, who is living in a camper provided by Travel Alberta adjacent to Nokia Theatre L.A. in the L.A. Live complex across the street from Staples Center. While biding his time in games of NHL 13, he’s also giving away replica championship rings, car flags, pucks and other Kings paraphernalia.

Monday night marks the third night Bailey has spent inside the camper at L.A. Live, a home he’ll leave temporarily to cheer the Kings on to victory when the Western Conference Quarterfinals return to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4 Saturday and Monday.
