April 26 practice update

Among the notes from today’s practice in El Segundo:

-With Dustin Brown serving the second game of his two-game suspension Saturday night against San Jose, there were a variety of new line combinations. Judging from line rushes and the colors of the players practice jerseys, they were:

Clifford / Kopitar / Carter
Penner / Stoll / Williams
King / Richards / Lewis
Toffoli / Richardson / Nolan
Extras: Brown, Fraser

-This doesn’t mean the above pairings are a lock to open the game Saturday against the Sharks. It does appear that with Brown out of the lineup Darryl Sutter has opted for wider adjustments rather than filling the hole at first line left wing, similar to the Detroit game.

-Matt Greene suffered an injury unrelated to his back in the 3-1 loss to Detroit Wednesday night and did not take part in practice. He is considered “day-to-day”, according to Sutter.

-Prospect Nick Shore, the former Denver Pioneer who signed a contract with the Kings earlier this month, skated following the team’s practice. I’ll post quotes from my chat with him shortly.

-I’ll also post practice quotes, updates and a late-season edition of FrasCast throughout the afternoon.
