April 16 postgame quotes: Justin Williams

On aspects of the shootout loss to San Jose:
“I think it was just a balance tonight. Some good, some bad. Some good shifts, some bad shifts. At this time of year, sometimes it’s really that the team that deserves to win usually does, and I don’t think we deserved to win tonight.”

On what led to the game opening up:
“I don’t know. I think the result of the multitude of chances that they had tonight was from us not being able to sustain a lot of pressure in their zone. They play a very tight defensive box, and we weren’t able to penetrate it as often as we wanted.”

On whether Jonathan Quick played his best game of the year:
“I don’t know. You’d have to ask him. You know…a 48 game season, you’d really only be kind of a little over halfway through a regular one. Quickie is someone we don’t worry about at all. He puts the most pressure on himself to perform. I think he’s going to continue to improve, and come the stretch run here and the playoffs, he’s going to have to be one of our best players, and I’m sure he will be.”
