April 10 practice quotes: Darryl Sutter

On Matt Greene’s progress:
“We hope he can skate tomorrow. It won’t be contact, but at least it’ll [be with] the group.”

On the performance by the Clifford-Richardson-Nolan line as the game progressed:
“We’re trying to get them more minutes, and not so much it’s performance-related, but at the same time our top guys struggled last night, so we were just trying to see if they could make a difference at some point in a game. Sometimes they’ll give you a little momentum. We still play that team one more time.”

On whether the Kings’ legs just “fell off” in the third period:
“No, I don’t think so. I think our top guys struggled the whole game. The top two lines both had a real rough night, quite honest. So they didn’t really ‘fall off’. They had a rough night, and whether it was schedule, travel, fatigue, you know what? We’re past that in a hurry.”

On whether the schedule begins to ease up next week:
“Well, we’ve still got to get through the next two, right? So we go Thursday-Saturday, then it’s into that. So we’re still in the three-in-four, every-other-day thing until then.”

On whether last night’s game was addressed, or whether the team would prefer to move on:
“Yeah, we met with them. Really clear on yesterday. You know what? You don’t have to re-teach. These guys, there’s a reason they’re the defending Stanley Cup Champions, right? Because when they have a rough game, they’re able to handle it properly.”

On whether Tuesday raised “red flags”, and whether the team will “keep pushing forward”:
“Sure there’s red flags, and you do keep pushing forward. I mean, when isn’t there a red flag, and when don’t you push forward? Every game there’s a red flag for every team. So whether it’s individually or team-wise, it’s all different, and they’re not all the same. That’s part of it.”
