March 30 postgame quotes: Justin Williams

On the shootout loss to Minnesota:
“It was sloppy. There’s no other word to describe it. It was a sloppy game from us. It’s certainly not the way we intended to play the game, but somewhere along the way we lost our way. We let a team back in a game that we had full control of.”

On whether the team “took the foot off the accelerator”:
“We got away from our game. We had far too many turnovers in the neutral zone, and at the offensive blue line. Especially with a team that played last night, you need to make them come the whole way. If they’re going to come, you better make it from their goal line to our goal line, and we let them off the hook. As a result, they got back in the game with some power play goals.”

On whether it’s a positive that they’ll play again tomorrow:
“Yeah. The good thing with this condensed season is there’s always another game right around the corner. We’ve got another game tomorrow to redeem ourselves against a team that we need to separate ourselves from.”
