March 27: Practice notes

The Kings practiced at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on Wednesday afternoon.

As noted previously, Jonathan Bernier was not with the team due to personal reasons. Goaltending Coach Bill Ranford donned an old set of game-used Jonathan Quick equipment and filled in. Darryl Sutter’s reaction to Ranford’s participation will be posted shortly, as will the brief chat I had with defenseman Keaton Ellerby.

Justin Williams was once again skating with Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar, while Tyler Toffoli was paired on a line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. There could also be a flip-flop of Dwight King and Kyle Clifford at LW; these issues will be covered in tomorrow’s game preview.

By the way, Jim Fox’s photo of Ranford is much better than mine.
