Damn Dallas has our number. That’s a real head scratcher.

Glad to see DD shooting. He almost had it there but damn, Lehtonen was good/

    @shiny,

And Lehtonen didn’t look like he was standing on his head either. I think the Kings were making it too easy even though they threw a lot of shots at him. Most were easy saves.

Lehtonen played last night surrendering 4 goals and the Stars didn’t get to their hotel rooms until 3 a.m. this morning. This one had to be a hair puller for DS. Be interesting what his response will be when he pens Saturday’s lineup. He might have to patrol the South Bay bars on Friday night, Saturday’s game is a matinee.

@chuckie, It’ll be interesting to see how Vancouver’s Olympic Diving Team comes out against us on Saturday.

I’m hoping for another really intense practice tomorrow or something to wake these guys up. Last time they lost to the Stars Sutter had a hard practice the next day to shake things up then suddenly Kings started playing better.

Not to excuse the way the Kings played tonight, but I think mentally the schedule is getting to them. I think there’s too many games now lol. I’m getting sick of games and I love the games. I love seeing these guys play. But now it’s getting to be too much. Three straight weeks of 4 games in 7 days is a lot. Oh well. Gotta park and ride as Sutter says.

Kari Let None In was the difference tonight. I hate freaking Dallas! We are just never pumped to play them. We show too much respect for Jagr & Whitney. Need to check the old guys just like you would anyone else. Jagr walked right in the slot & nobody hit him. Just like last game when he parked his ass right in front of our net to score not once but twice. We need to hit them just like we hit Phoenix & Vancouver. We need to develop bad blood when playing this team. All that’s left to do is prepare for the freaking Nucks and their invading fans on Saturday. This game is a must win before this upcoming road trip.

@puck73, it’s brutal losing to these guys twice in 2 weeks. Even worse, I was at both of these games! Even got stuck in a traffic jam coming home. Did I mention I hate Dallas!!!!

@King Alex, This is a bit OT, but something struck me as funny. The Dallas blog (Defending Big D) was making fun of Dustin Brown for diving while they were defending their own goalie for not diving.

Give me a freakin’ break. Kari Lehtonen will dive if it means his team gets a PP. So yeah, Brownie dove. But it was a bad call by the ref.

Ok that’s my heavily biased LA opinion.

@shiny, I noticed we touch Kari & bam, goalie interference. Quick gets hit twice worse & no call tonight. Seems like Quick never gets the call. & it seems he gets run at least once a game. I would really like to change their name from the Stars to the Holes. The Dallas Holes! It works for any sporting team from there!

    Just a thought about Sutter.

Last season, when times were tough, Sutter was new, and probably treating everyone (except the media) with kid gloves while getting acquainted. Things started clicking, and Sutter became an enigma that wasn’t particularly bitter.

Is it possible we’re going to see the other side of Sutter now, and quickly grow tired of his act? He’s sure a lot less “cute” when things aren’t clicking. Fortunately, we haven’t seen true despair this season, or at least when we did, it didn’t last long. I’m wondering about when that happens. Maybe it will take a full season before we see what I’m talking about. Maybe we won’t see it. I don’t know. Maybe the mind goes to dark places with losses.

    Thoughts?

Move on and prepare for the next one. Work on the odd man rushes play with an edge and remember we are the reigning Stanley Cup Champs. Give everything you got every game every period every shift of every second. We will loose some but we will win more. Go get em boys.

    Observations from last night’s game:

    1. The Kings were playing well most of the game. A lucky goal and a lapse by Scuderi and Brown led to two goals.
    2. Quick was awesome. Would have been nice to stop that three on two, but he got a piece of it. Nothing bad to say about his game at all. And even if he stopped it, the Kings weren’t going to get the equalizer anyway the way they were playing.
    3. DS was spot on with the first line. Kopi was outplayed by Jagr. Brown was whiffing on shots. Williams could not find anyone and could not get a decent shot through. And they kept staying on the ice much too long on their shifts.
    4. I still like the way the PP is going. Unfortunately, Dallas and their goaltender just have the Kings’ number so far. Hope that changes since we play them three more times. I said the other day that there aren’t many teams that can take 4 of 7 from the Kings. I hope Dallas doesn’t make the playoffs or else…

On to Saturday. I guess there isn’t really a chance that the Kings can catch the Quacks anymore. Dammit.

@vplaza, Maybe Sutter made a “mistake” by talking up Kopi recently.

These last two games with the Stars reminds me of the mid/late 90′s when the Kings always lost to them. Dallas had their number for like 5 years straight.

    puck73 Reply:

@madA, Exactly. They had this defenseman named Craig Ludwick who wore these huge oversized pads especially for shot blocking.

    I hated that guy.

Oh, I remember Ludwig and his ridiculous pads. He skated like a bowlegged biker with saddle crotch.
