  180. Kenny44 says:

Kings can afford to be a little more patient with the puck. With Dallas being so tired, they have that extra split second even if they don’t feel it.

I expect the Stars to come out with a big push early in the third to try to get a lead. In wouldn’t be surprised to see a set play to try to spring something off the opening draw. Kings need to be aware if a Stars forward lines up at a D spot.

Misunderstanding me, or I wasn’t clear. Stars are playing rope a dope, not forcing us in their zone, watching the middle and pouncing on transition opportunities. When the Kings just make a quick low percentage pass or shot, it plays right into their hands. Take the time to get into good scoring area.

    [Reply]

    LT21 Reply:

@yetiman_oc, so you honestly think Quick shouldn’t continue to play when he is consistently getting better over the last couple games because the D had a big breakdown and the O can’t score? Rather you would want to bench Quick instead of holding the other players accountable for not properly doing their job? You’re nowhere near rational

    yetiman_oc Reply:

@LT21, wait while JQ gets consistently better or play the goalie who has been consistently good already. Short season. Tight standings. No time to wait for anyone on the team. O and D doesn’t have much options. I would have liked to see TT stay in and let DK sit. Other than that there isn’t much to change personnel wise.

    LT21 Reply:

@yetiman_oc, I would agree more if this loss was Quicks fault. He has been solid 2 games in a row. That is not to take away from Bernier but this game is not a reason to play JB more and JQ less.

The lines were off balance tonight.
Our second line with Pen’s in there was not too sharp. TT would have been a better choice there.
Also I thought Pen’s brought a lot of life into the fourth line.
And can someone tell me what the hell is wrong with Scuds? Is he playing hurt. I feel sorry for VV having to play with him. He looks and plays like he’s half asleep half the time. That second goal was a 100% on Scuds and this is not the first time this has happened. Maybe give DD2 a chance?

    [Reply]

@King-C, The goal was Brown’s fault as being the f3 he was not the 5th in our zone on the counter.

    [Reply]

    Robbie Reply:

@King-C, I counted Penner getting maybe 11 touches in the offensive zone without getting the puck back to Carter or Richards maybe once. Penner gets his 2nd goal of the season the other night and now he’s the scorer on that line? The sad thing is how he all but disappears in front of the opponent’s net when the team hits the road.

Yeah…Lehtonin was solid…but he was never forced to make a great save…what maybe two pucks thrown to the front …by surprise…he got em…or the Kings missed em…whatever…the point is…the Kings saw this same scenario in Dalls…and they got their arses kicked…you figure they would want some payback for it,…but know…they let BS Dallas come into to their own building and shut em out…I am pissed…and so should be every King fan!!!

I hate the Stars…with all of my black heart!!!

Kope was out-played by the old guy with a cane. Brown was fanning all the way. He even missed the hit that led to the outnumbered attack they scored. But I blame DS as well. He should have changed the line combo after the 1st. Penner on the 2nd line clearly wasn’t working.

I just feel the Kings could have better controlled the game, but they decided to try to play it offensively…and that would have been fine if they would have scored, but they didn’t score…they could have easily played a more conservative game and controlled the chances significantly…and yeah…i know they out-shot Dallas by a wide margin, but their actual scoring chances were few and far between…and the fact is,…Dallas had better counter rushes and more quality oppurtunitiies to score..and they did…and the kings didn’t..shut out…dang!!

    [Reply]

    Mikey J. Reply:

@g smith86, Yeah that 3rd period goal was destined to score because it was Jagr. Shouldn’t of happened Kopi’s line got too greedy.

  342. Robbie says:

The Kings did a great job of keeping the play along the boards and away from the middle for two periods. Then when Dallas amped up play in the third and started controlling the middle it seemed only a matter of time before they got one or two past Quick. Wonder if anyone will have the balls to ask Sutter how come the schedule didn’t win the game tonight.
