Not bad Jon, but you forgot to give credit to all of the bloggers for keeping the Kings organization constantly supplied with new information about possible trades, line combinations and methods for encouraging players tom play better. What would they do without us?

@Duncanz, I know who our # 1 is and support our #1, but my opinion is JB should be playing tonight.
Since the S word which represents not letting the other team to score is sacreligious, what about the S word referring to letting a bad goal in.

@DesertKing, forgot that JB has out played JQ this season? I heart JQ and want the guy from last year back. Until then I think JB has earned more starts than he is getting.

@Cry Baby
Both goalies have had good performances and bad performances this year. I was just watching the Stanley Cup video yesterday, and watching JQ and his brilliance showed us what we have in him. This argument is complicated by the fact that JQ is still recovering from surgery and getting back into seeing the puck and reading what is happening. The shortened season, no practice, and the loss of WM and Greene further complicate the enitre situation. JB has certainly played better than expected, and JQ has certainly played worse than he did last year, but I am still amazed that people are so willing to throw him under the bus. Once JQ gets back to last season’s level of play, people will be willing to let JB go for draft picks, despite the fact that he is an excellent goalie also.
Signed,
@Richman

@Duncanz,
Hmmm..I figured Bernier earned the start tonight. I’m in the Quick bandwagon still, but he’s been shaky, to say the least.
Regardless of who plays tonight, the other guy should be playing tomorrow…I hope

@FKA PakiFro, If you are going to play the two goalies back to back…Then Bernier should play tonight…he deserves it……But if DS looks at Quick as the number 1 ..then it should be Quick…

@Neil, I agree, the better call IMO would be to start JB tonight and JQ tomorrow night. We have momentum with JB right now. If he was to get the win tonight, that would be a nice carry over to tomorrow night for JQ.

Uh-oh, DS will be called eliot once again.

So if JB had 3 consecutive shut outs, then I guess we all know what TM and Sutter have in common, right?
and it pains me to even think that.

@Lake Forest, They may get away with coddling Quick at Staples, but if they insist on his being the number one goalie, no matter what when they go back on the road, the Kings season is over. I have seen very few players in any sport under valued as much as Bernier has been with this club. The only question I would have for Sutter is what’s this nonsense about a goalie competition?

@Lake Forest, Except Bernier hasn’t had one. The one he had the best shot at he put the puck in his own net when it was going wide.

I am a big JQ fan, and have been for the past 3 seasons. That being said, it has been clear to me for the last couple of weeks that JQ is not 100% fully recovered from his off season back surgery IMO. You gotta remember, backs and knees take a long time to heal, then it takes a long time to get into game shape.
I really dont know why Sutter is dicking around with this situation when we have a shortened season. Granted, is it possible that JQ might suddenly regain his form and be lights out? Absolutely. He is very talented and extremely competetive. But if I had to make a guess, I would say we may not see the real JQ until training camp begins in September.
For right now JB is playing solid, and I say let him start, let JQ have the starts on the back to back nights. If JB falls flat, its not the end of the world, you can always put JQ back in and go with that.

@puck73, maybe Quick is 100% and is just in a slump…DS feels(right or not) that he needs Quick to go far in the playoffs and is doing everything to get him right..Maybe Quick worked on the high shots and looked good in practice and DS wants to test him right away. I dont know the answer and Iam sure DS wont let us know what he is thinking…

@Neil, There is always a possibility that what you just posted is spot on. All I am saying is…why mess with a good thing, ride the hot hand and see how far you can go with it. If Bernier falters, you can always put JQ back in. I really dont think this is Rocket Science.

Anyhow

I trust in DS. If he thinks JQ is best to start tonight, I’m good with that. I find it a bit silly to 2nd guess in these kind of situations. Now if DS comes back with JQ tomorrow night regardless of how good JQ plays tonight, that I would think would clearly be against reasonable logic (assuming JB is healthy).
