Sunday marked the very first “Royal Feast”, which took place at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar on Sunday afternoon. An early estimate placed a ballpark of $100,000 of donations raised for the Kings Care Foundation through admissions as well as silent and live auctions.
Players, coaches and broadcasters signed autographs and posed for photos with participants as they rotated between tables. The full team participated, including injured defensemen Matt Greene and Willie Mitchell.
Deborah Lew will have a full recap of the event later this week on LAKings.com, while FOX Sports West has slotted its Royal Feast coverage for the Monday, March 18 game against Phoenix.

Is Mike Richards there?

@kissmyblarneystones,
Actually, I do see part of a Black #10 jersey sitting at the table with Penner.

@shiny,
If he were concussed last night, he might have sat this one out. No?

@kissmyblarneystones, Maybe, maybe not. He seemed fine but I didn’t get to sit at his table and I only spoke to him for a very brief moment. It seems to me, though, if he was concussed he wouldn’t have been allowed back into the game yesterday. They’re very careful with that nowadays

@kissmyblarneystones,
True. But last year he came back into a game that he took a knock in, only to be IR’d the next day. Anyway, I’m trying to figure out the Toffoli move. I think if he works out, we’ll be saying goodbye to a couple of favorites soon.

Were you there? If you were, I missed you… And I looked, too! But I got placed in the very back room at Sutter’s table (nothing wrong with that but we were a bit out of the way).
It was lots of fun. Sutter is such a great guy. The only disappointment was that not all 22 players rotated evenly between the tables so I couldn’t get pictures with and autographs from everybody.
But, I still had fun

@shiny, Hi Shiny
We went too, and yes
Jim Fox said stay at your tables players would come around and sad to say very few of them came around, thank goodness I send my son around or I would not get but a very little of them, Carter was great he went, around and Quick too, had to run after Drew, Richards did not go, could not find him around, and Kopi left early and I needed his jersey signed too, oh weel
They put us at side small table by bathroom too
[Reply]
I am going to do that next year. I could this year, but know I should save $$ trying to buy a house.

@Mars, It was a lot of fun. I just wish I knew some of the other people there. Sutter is a great story teller. And what you see on TV is exactly how he is in real life. And he’s very protective of the “kids” as he likes to call them. He’s such a great person. I really can’t say enough about how awesome he is

@jess, Bobby Ryan is a good player and all the Kings seem to like him. I’d love to see him in a Kings sweater. I think he’d have great chemistry with Penner and Kopi (how that translates on the ice as Penner and Kopi don’t play at the same time, I’m not sure)
jess Reply:
March 10th, 2013 at 6:26 pm
@shiny,
I don’t have a problem with Ryan except for his dives. But a bit of that can be said about DB this year too.
But I really like Cogliano. I think he fit’s into the Stoll slot, but maybe better.
I would hate to separate Carter from Penner. I always thought when they start seriously connecting, it’s going to be a sucky world for the opposition..
shiny Reply:
March 10th, 2013 at 6:35 pm
@jess, Yeah, BR dives but that can easily be fixed. He might be better than Stoll but I don’t know.
Also, I think Penner is doing wonders for Carter because he’s been so good at protecting the puck and then feeding it to Carts. However, I don’t want to separate Carter from Richards because those 2 have some kind of magic on the ice.
A good example is the PP against the Wings when Carter had his back to the goalie and somehow Richards found a way to put the puck on Carter’s stick so Carter could just get it to deflect into Howie’s 5 hole. Part of that is pure skill, part of that is the magic that is Richards/Carter.

@shiny,
I agree about MR and JC, but Penns needs to stay there. This line is built for playoff hockey. I wouldn’t change a thing.

@jess, Bobby Ryan is a punk, he tried to Kill Oscar Moeller a few years ago at the end of a game, the Kings were way ahead and Ryan cheap shot Moeller big time. I never liked him after that weak hit.
