March 2 postgame quotes: Dustin Brown

On the challenges presented by Vancouver:
“We were a little sloppy in our own end, and they have a good offensive club. They were opportunistic on their chances. We gave up two-on-one to their two best players, and they make it happen. We’ve just got to sharpen up on the D-zone, I think. Five man units, top to bottom.”

On the momentum shift in the second period:
“I thought we actually had the momentum going our way after Noley had that big goal for us. They come back and score that goal, it’s a big momentum swing. We had the momentum going our way, and then it did a complete 180. We’ve got to just clean up.”

On how the game slipped away:
“It happened pretty quickly. That’s just what happens when you lose focus for a couple minutes in this league.”

On the attempt to equalize against Vancouver’s defensive effort in the third period:
“Yeah, they were sitting back pretty good, I think, with the two goal lead. They sat back and flipped – I don’t know how many times they flipped the puck out in the third. Two D back with almost two forwards back and one guy forechecking, so we were unable to get in behind them and get any pucks really turned over for some offense. We had a couple shifts here and there, but it’s just about work.”
