Defenseman Alec Martinez is skating with the full team at practice today. He had previously skated with Simon Gagne, Brad Richardson, Andrew Campbell and Jonathan Bernier on Tuesday. Martinez suffered an upper-body injury during a 4-1 win in St. Louis on February 11.
In 11 games this season, Martinez has one goal, two points and an even rating while averaging 18:56 of ice time.
He has not yet been activated from injured reserve. The Kings would not have to assign anyone to Manchester to activate him, and General Manager Dean Lombardi has indicated that he will keep two extra defensemen and one extra forward when he is ready to be activated.
More to come before the team departs for Vancouver.
Welcome back to practice AMart, hope to see you back soon

@Mars, Highly doubtful he’ll play.
We’ll more likely see him next week.

Hope you are feeling much better now welcome back and
Go Kings Go!
Have a good flight and trip

Great news! Maybe he’ll be activated by the beg of the week. You were missed A Mart!

So, begs the question.
Assuming he goes back into the lineup, who sits?
Muzzin has shown quite a bit as of late. Ellerby, well, he plays a different role in my opinion.
So, I would sit Ellerby.

@mrbrett7, I’m not so sure he goes back into the lineup.
If I am DS, AMart will not see action for a while.

@FKA PakiFro, that would make the most sense, but DD2 is doing a decent job on the PK right now and im not sure AM could bring what DD2 is giving in that area right now. def would be more of an offensive threat though….

@mrbrett7, I would much rather have Muzzin, Ellerby, and D-Wisk in the lineup that Martinez. While Martinez has more offensive potential, I am nervous every time that guy is on the ice.

Alex Martinez…
Hey! I remember that guy!
He could really help us on the back end.

The kids are doing well, so I hope they don’t rush him back in until he’s completely healed. I agree, Ellerby is the one to sit.

Are we ever going to see Willie Mitchell again this season? Is he still cleared by doctors but not clearing himself?
Any news on him? Man it would be nice to have him back…esp on the PK.

@Mudfish4,
Answers: Maybe, not sure, yes, indeed.
Deano revealed he had a platelet rich plasma procedure performed on his knee, which is apparently the same procedure Kobe Bryant had. According to unrelated reports, the recovery time is supposed to be short.
