After being greeted in Calgary last night by four degree weather upon exiting the plane, it has risen to a robust 18 degrees amidst some light snow that has continued to fall downtown. Snow doesn’t necessarily photograph well – just take my word for it. Weather can change rapidly in this city – I’ve been outside in October in short sleeves here, followed 24 hours later by a trace of snow. I’ve previously thought of Calgary as “Canada’s Denver”. The Rocky Mountains are a short drive away, there are plenty of options for outdoor enthusiasts, and a cowboy culture prevails.
