February 10 postgame quotes: Jonathan Ericsson

On his game-winning goal:
“The funniest thing is actually that one of the linesmen was thanking me after I scored, and he said, ‘Thank you so much, I really had to go pee. I wouldn’t last overtime,’ so that was kind of funny.”

On Jimmy Howard:
“Without Jimmy, we wouldn’t have [had] a chance today. I think they were better throughout the game. He made some really good saves, and he really kept us in the game the first two periods. We owe Jimmy this win.”

On the Red Wings:
“We just have to bear down when we don’t play as good teams on the paper, of course. We’ve been playing a little bit better. Today I think we weren’t as good as we were yesterday. We’re on the right track, I think.”

  1. “We owe Jimmy this win.”

Correction: You owe Jimmy AND Jonathan this game.

…maybe if Quick had to go pee pee really bad he would have closed those tweeners faster.

@Paul Armbruster (KingsNewsDaily.com), Quick should’ve stopped it, no doubt about that, but as Darryl said, “It’s a 3-2 league”, and the Kings continue to be the 2 in that equation, not the 3.

    On the Game Winning goal:
“It was so nice of Stoll to leave me wide open like that, and Drew made a great pass back to me I just fired it in there and it found its way through.”

Funny how the linesmman thanked him for scoring, its seams to me the WEings were getting away with an awful lot of minor penalties that have been called all year, then they find there whistles late in the game against the Kings. The refs and linesmen still favor them. Have for 20 years…that being said, Doughty has to keep that puck in the corner.
