February 7 postgame quotes: Dustin Brown

On the challenges presented by Nashville:
“They’re a hard working team. We didn’t match their compete [level] in the first, and that was ultimately the difference in the game. It’s similar to the Anaheim game. We have to get to another level as a group. It starts with individual preparation.”

On Nashville’s success in keeping Los Angeles to the perimeter:
“I think that’s their M.O. as a team. Again, that comes back to competing and willing to be a bulldog in the dirty areas and driving the net. There were instances of that, but it really needs to happen on a consistent basis, especially against a team like this.”

@Gmo, Only thing missing is the follow up question,
On what the team has to do to start consistently winning games:
“We’ve got to find ways to get the puck to the net. We’ve got to find a way to score some goals.”

Wow, J Dub just about repeated that word for word in the next thread.
Looks like we were both simultaneously channeling the Captain – uncanny.

We need big Willie Mitchell back ASAP to turn this around! Greener is missed too. Scoring a friggin goal or two would also help.

@King Alex, It seems to be having quite an effect on the team without those two guys. We were pretty fortunate last spring to have everybody healthy enough to be in the line up. I thank my lucky stars that we took the Cup when giving the opportunity.

There’s a word for it Brown, hustle. My dad who was my little league baseball coach used to yell it at me when he thought I was “loafing”. I saw no hustle, no tenacity out there tonight.

@Goring 19, no desire, that’s what made me mad.

If we get beat on our a game, fine.
    But when we are not getting a full 60;
Then I am just losing my mind!

@Goring 19, You’re so right, they were just completely lackadaisical tonight! There was no hurry, no effort, no really seemed to be moving their feet…

Brown, light a freaking fire in their hearts!
We need a spark, some magic!
Hell throw glitter at the guys
    Whatever gets them all going!

@Mars, We need a home game vs Chicago …. oh, wait ….

This is definitely not the team that won the Stanley Cup a few months ago. Is there a reason the do not screen the goalie as a consistent play? And whatever happened to the “crashing the net” mind set?
Also, would someone on the team take Doughty to the barbershop for a haircut and a shave~!

Same old comments from Brownie. Maybe he should go out there and lead by example like a Captain is supposed to do. Right now he’s playing like a real Wuss – If he wants to do something for the team rip the “C” off your sweater and give it to someone who can lead the Kings – he’s been a real floater so far this year.
