Good morning, Columbus

This is the east-facing view from the 11th floor of our hotel in Columbus this morning, depicting the Greater Columbus Convention Center and a sliver of the I-71 and I-670 intersection in the background. Approximately one inch of snow fell yesterday, giving way to an overcast, 27-degree morning. More to come follow the Jackets’ and Kings’ morning skates.

    Well, perhaps not in the same game, or even the same month.

    @Duncanz, Most likely or not.

    Yep, I know that view all too well. @JonRosen, be sure to check out North Market for lunch, lots of good choices there.

    I know Columbus has been doing surprisingly well but I also know the Kings could beat them. However, it was also expected for the Kings to demolish Nashville and fans just sat back scratching their heads at that game.

    Oh well. We’ll just have to wait and see. GKG!!!

    @DesertKing,

    Well, Des Moines is nice and all, but do you really want to visit EVERY year?

    FelixUnger Reply:

    @DesertKing, Well they have to have all those gun shows and bunker conventions somewhere.

    @DesertKing,

    I mean, who holds a convention their? The Spanish Conquerors Assosciation? The Nina/Pinta/Santa Maria Survivors Group? The World Is Round Believer’s Organization? The Gary Bettman Fan Club?

    A good long road trip is just what the Kings need right now to put things back in perspective.

    @408kingsfan, Concur! This is where the Kings need to make a stand and start the process of becoming the team they need to be to get where they want to go.

    I think I might be speaking for most of the King’s fans in we’re wondering very much what the heck is going on with Mitchell? Did he make the trip? Is this a physical problem or??? What the heck is up?

    [Reply]

    KOHO Reply:

    @KC23, We’re all scratching our heads on this one. I’ll give Mithcell the benefit of the doubt cause we know where his heart is when he takes the ice. It is perplexing though.

    DesertKing Reply:

    @KC23,

    I don’t think he made the trip. Paul Armbruster posted that video of Mitchell skating and shooting in El Segundo while the team was traveling to Columbus.

    tornado12 Reply:

    @KC23, Agree very unusual injury situation. Couple weeks back we hear he has been cleared medically and he is skating with the team then he isn’t even skating and no further word as to what when if there has even been a setback? And all this from what seemed to be an elective procedure? The dots don’t connect….

    408kingsfan Reply:

    @tornado12, I just hope its not concussion related afterall. If Willie felt 50% he would be playing

    Now there’s something that hasn’t been brought up yet! Interesting take.

    40YearKingsFan Reply:

    @KC23, I think it’s up to Paul to get to the bottom of this the inside scoop. Jon’s on the road, what do you say Paul? Can you get an exclusive with Willie?

    so 7 games gone and we are 14th in the conference. We are still a few games behind everyone so there is some hope we can pull through and get a couple of wins.

    remember this is ONLY a 48 game season, we can’t keep playing like this and have a chance. almost 20% of the season has already passed

    [Reply]

    Rob Reply:

    @Lake Forest,
    Also remember that a lot af games are “4 point games” every night so it will be easier to make up ground.
