He’s with a new team now and he is embrassig it.I understand him down playing the playoffs but what do you expect. I’m sure he is happy for the team and the fans most of all but he was traded and it’s a business. He knows that and I hope he is sucrssful and the captain soon. I’ll be rooting for him in a year at the winter games in Russia but for now GKG!

Folks, The Kings arent a very good hockey team currently. Yes they won the stanley cup, and that was great. But this is a NEW SEASON, and NHL teams around the league dont give a rats ASS if the Kings are the champs or not, all they care about is getting 2 points, and in the early part of this season vs The Kings its pretty much money in the bank.
I really thought with TM and Kompon being gone that things would be very different. Instead, their back to being the regular season Kings we remember…..Making every second rate goalie look like Patrick Roy, and very little finish when it matters. How bout 29th in scoring in the league?
Some things just never change.

Kings just look pathetic. Do ANY of them care about winning this game? They are playing Columbus for God’s sake. Haven’t made the playoffs in years and have three wins in nine games. How is it that the Kings make every team they play look like champions? If/when these guys wake up they are going to find themselves so far out of the playoff race that it won’t matter if they win 10 in a row. How do you go from 16-4 in May/June to what they are now?

@ArmChairKingsFan, Maybe Cliffy will be a Marshy and not a Lappy -either way Kings win.
Is it the injuries to our top defensemen? Well, in the first games without them, the defense held fast but the offense couldn’t buy a goal.
Now, the defense is faltering a bit and the offense is still no where to be found.
How soon can they be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs?

@Dunce anZ…..The only similar to TM is the lack of finish. The Kings are still forechecking well, and getting scoring chances. If this was TM, he would be dumpimg the puck in, and having guys play along the wall. Also getting the puck back to the point to JJ, with Moreau standing in front.

@phil sykes, You complain about Muzzin all the time, yet it was DD and Scuderi who were out there on the 2 Colombus goals. Why aren’t they criticed when their mistakes actually lead to goals? Muzzin is our 6th d-man and has played like it, DD and Scuds are our top 2 d-men and have played like crap defensively yet they get a pass. That doesn’t make sense.

people say to me why pick on muzzin when dought scuds etcc…… do these bad things lol . you already know they are great dont you .. so if they make a mistake .. its no big deal …. you just have to move but with muzzin for the second game in a roww coming out and going to the boards on a 2on 2 rush instead of staying in the middle – right side of the puck as sutter woud say – well , that just shows how he is clueless out there .. he gave up 2 two on ones down low about 4 minutes into the game ……. thankfully quick saved them both on some made scrambles in the crease …………………. and its not just his defensive play …… we miss greene and mithell because of good they are at knowing how to break out of the zone with one touch passes when muzz finally does get the puck you cAN tell he dosent know what to do with it and hesitates …….. it affects the whole team and even our offense ……… because the reason why we were so good in the playoofs last year was breaking out of our own zone , which leads to offesne and rush chances …. right now we are when muzzin is out there

@SLIM, While I can’t argue that Richards has given us alot and that we wouldn’t be defending Stanley Cup Champions without him. We did give up a lot. But you can only send X # of players on the ice at a time, and that is why trading for a super talent with 3 lesser but very good talents usually pays off. I also think part of it was Richards was mislabeled and used as a scapegoat in Philly especially by the media. I would really like to send Philly’s Media a thank you card for driving Richards & Carter out of town and basically devaluing their worth, and Philly’s GM for having them both sign such cap friendly contracts only to ultimately have the LA Kings benifit from it.

Good win tonight against a non playoff team. Nashville, however, is a playoff team, possibly fourth or fifth seed, so we need to take the game to them as quickly as possible and get up on the scoreboard early and most importantly, not let up. The time for coasting is over and the Kings need to focus and skate with purpose every single shift.

@Robyn, Toronto made like 99% of their calls against the kings last year. They suck.

I’m wondering if someone can help me. There’s been a lot of talk lately that because Greene and Mitchell are out, the defense system is no longer about one stay at home guy and one guy who is I guess more of a mover.
What’s the difference and how is what we’re seeing with the current defense guys different than before? I’m not very hockey literate but I certainly enjoy the game!

@Robyn, Mitchell and Greene are both stay at home. Usually Mitchell is paired with voynov. Mitchell doesn’t particate in the offense as much as voynov, or doughty or Martinez. So you pair the stay at home guy scuderi, Mitchell and Greene with offensive minded defensemen doughty, Martinez and voynov. That way you get both.

Fire Doughty and Scuderi! Or at least wake them up or something… jeeze. Columbus made them look like field hockey fullbacks.
