On the strong second period after trailing 1-0 after one:
“We got that goal disallowed, and then got one scored on us…Obviously, we knew that goal wasn’t going to beat us. Hockey’s a 60, sometimes 65 minute game. Whether or not you break a team in the first period, or whether it’s midway through the second or third doesn’t really matter as long as you play the same way. Eventually you’ll wear a team out. I think that’s what we did.”
On the sequence of killing a penalty, a timely Jonathan Quick save, and then a Kings goal:
“I mean, that’s hockey, right? A big save at one end, and a goal in the other end. I know when guys are sitting in the penalty box – especially for four minutes – they’re heart’s going quite a bit, and they’re cheering on as hard as they can. I know Jeff felt bad getting that penalty, but I didn’t think they didn’t had very many opportunities. I thought our penalty kill did a great job.”
On earning the game’s first star and his personal performance:
“They’re a team – they come down hard on the walls and therefore open up the points a little bit. I thought our D-men did a great job getting shots through tonight and being available. For myself, personally, I’m happy I can obviously help a little bit. Confidence gets better within every game that you play. I’m still trying to keep things as simple as I can, because I know my game’s not exactly where it needs to be as of yet, but I feel it coming.”
