Jonathan Quick Post-Game Quotes

Game recap: “They catch a bounce there at the end and push it to overtime…They get a power play.  You give a team that many chances on the power play soon or later they’re going to score on you.  It ended up biting us at the end.”

On Gagner’s disallowed goal: “He skated into me.  I couldn’t make an attempt to stop the puck.  Pretty simple.”

    @Lake Forest,
    I don’t have a problem with the D corps. They have been doing OK considering the 2 vets they’re trying to replace. Muzzin, Voynov, DD2 and AMart are playing well. It’s the forwards that just don’t seem to be into playing the game, except for Cliffy, Fraser, Nolan and maybe King. I didn’t have an answer last year for this lack of desire & drive. Don’t have one now. DS & DL are going to have to make some adjustments – and it might be a big surprising one that sends the message that no one is “safe”.

    @pr0cess,

    Carter was asking that of the person cleaning the ice who was trying to get by him. That was not directed at Patrick O’Neal’s question.

    Unless that team is the Kings.

    Quick did everything he could to get this team a win. There is simply not enough tenacity coming from the guys who need to contribute offensively (Richards, Kopitar, Brown, and Williams). I thought Carter did his job tonight (even looked good on the PK a couple of times), but in the end it comes down to the same old issue. Until this team figures out the power play, this will keep happening. They’re still standing around, not moving the puck, and taking too long to make decisions (Doughty and Richards especially).

    The officiating is no excuse, because they were terrible to both teams. The defense and goaltender gave up two goals tonight. That ought to be enough to win when you get that many power plays.

    @KingMe20, The officiating was fine until the last minute when they missed the crosscheck in the back of Doughty.

    There was a complete lack of discipline from both teams.

    GOOD NEWS is that the Kings couldn’t score last year either, and look what they did anyway!

    Well one Gagne(r) scored – just the wrong one. I hope Gagne gets another chance soon to see if he can add something to the powerplay – can’t be any worse!

    Seriously…..has Williams even been playing? He and Brownie have been quite literally invisible.

    @Spencer Maze,
    Add Richards to the list. I’m surprised the ref saw him for the too many men penalty.
