Final: Avs 3 – Kings 1

After two periods the Kings still lead Colorado 1-0.

Kyle Clifford gave the Kings a 1-0 lead 15:52 into the first period, as he connected with Jordan Nolan and Alec Martinez.  It was Clifford’s third point in two games (1-2=3).

Teams skated to a scoreless second period.  The Avalanche had a golden opportunity to tie it with a five-on-three power play for 1:30 late in the frame, but failed to capitalize.

The Avalanche finally solved Jonathan Quick and took a 2-1 lead with two goals in 1:35 early in the third period.  Gabriel Landeskog tied it one minute into the third and David Jones gave Colorado the lead with a power-play goal at 2:35.  PA Parenteau made it a 3-1 game at 8:16.

Power plays in the game:
Kings 0-for-6
Avalanche 1-for-4

The last time the Kings lost a regular season game when leading after two periods was April 2, 2009 at Phoenix.  The Kings went 86-0-9 in 95 games when leading after two during that stretch.
