I had a chance to sit down and interview Bob Miller recently to talk to him about his “reign” as president of the Southern California Sports Broadcasters and his long career in broadcasting (over 50 years). I will try to start posting as soon as possible, but for now I have a question for you…during the interview Bob was asked who was his favorite interview of all time…maybe you can guess who it was…some pretty big names on this list!

Well its official. There will never be NHL games again, even if a CBA is arranged and approved by both parties tomorrow. No games would be played before 12/21/2012 the end of the world as we know it according to the Mayans anyway.

Had to be Lombardi, after the interview Bob discovered his recording device was off and had to ask Vince to do the interview all over again.

I was there for the Miracle on Manchester. I was there for Gretzky’s first game as a King. I watched Dionne, Vachon, Taylor, Robitaille and Gretzky bring hockey to LA. I was there for the first games of new King’s legend Brown, Doughty and Quick. I was there when the curved stick was discovered. I was there for the first game at Staples. I was there for the first Kings SCF win on the road in Montreal. I was there for the King’s first SCF win at home. I was there for the King’s first Stanley Cup championship. I was there for it all. I AM BOB!

First game I left early and last game I ever will.

hearing Fehr address the media (this is old not new), is just a waste of my time. Fehr is playing the PR game, but after his last “we basically have a deal” how can ANYONE take him seriously.
Not putting blame on him for everything, just stating the obvious crap being spewed from his mouth.

When the off-field events of baseball get more headlines than the on-ice activities of the NHL, then no wonder the NHL is always #4 behind the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Oh, wait a minute, there is mo on-ice activity right now. Hmmmmmmm…….

It’s Zamperini. One of the most amazing stories ever. From being a Torrance trouble maker to running in the Olympics & meeting Hitler. Only to be stuck in a raft in the Pacific for a couple months with no food or water. Then to end up a POW with the Japanese. Still alive today & that’s why the Torrance high school football field & the airport are named after him.

Figuring the average NHLers career is about 7 years or so (the average is much less if you consider how many just come up for the proverbial cup of coffee but let’s just sat 7 years) then most current players face losing 14$% of their entire career earnings if the season is lost. Would any of them have lost 14% off their earnings is they’d agreed to take 50% back in September, and agreed to shorter max contracts and such? Not likely. From the start it’s been lose-lose for the players due to their union leadership. Fehr can work 50 years, so what’s one year to him? The players have been given bad advice.
