Hey, hope everyone had a great weekend. Here are some pictures from the event in Valencia on Saturday. Felt good to see and hear the Kings game-night experience and watch some great hockey on the ice.

Lets see now -
Kings – nope, lockout
Angels – nope, MLB season is officially over
Lakers – nope, Kobes broken, Howards healing and Mike Brown is a great TM imitator
Raiders – nope, yea, we won the last two, but we beat Jacksonville (they suck) and Kansas City (they suck worse)
Presidential Election – nope, its like choosing between the Sacramento Kings and Columbus BlueJackets
Its official, there is nothing left to root for except Shakes making it safely through the Superstorm. Go Shakes GO!!

Yeah I hear you, and that is an affectionate name -and pretty cool. I have a black cat and call him night stalker, so what.
But the audience shouting obviously racially offensive chants is a whole different ball of wax, and completely unacceptable! -Especially towards a stand up guy like Simmers!!

@Subby, Not good. This type of behavior is totally unacceptable, but the way the Home Team handled it was class all the way.
Hoping for some NHL soon, but the way non-talks are going doesn’t seem likely does it?

@Subby, I understand the stand JMFJ is taking here, but I don’t think LA is one of the teams pushing for rollbacks. DL has kept the team 9 mil under this years cap despite foolish cries for signing Doan’t. I think LA was actually one of the team that felt rollbacks may not be part of the new CBA.
Its unfortunate that owners of the Boston, Minn, & Wash are on the NHL Non-Negotiating(We want rollbacks). All three teams are maxed out on the Cap and have multiple players on huge longterm contracts. It becomes much easier to understand how these non-negotitations have been played out. The way Edm has signed the 3 lotto picks long term this summer it wouldn’t be surprising to find that Edm owner is part of the bargaining team either.

@KC23,
I bought a 5 game AHL live stream package. Not in HD but it definitely helps with the hockey cravings. I have 3 three games left and when those are done, I’ll probably buy more. If the monarchs keep playing like this, they have a strong shot at the calder.

@KC23,
I signed up for a five game package for under $30.00. Obviously, the more you order, the more you save.
You can google AHL live and sign up / register. I think an entire season to follow your favorite team is under $100.00. Let me know if you do that and what the final price was. It’s not in HD so the quality kind of old school, but the announcer isn’t hideous and at least the camera follows the play decently. There is also a chat window on the right of the vid stream, so me and puck73 were having some fun as you might imagine

@KC23,
NICE! -Yes we’ll have to do that.
Also, quick update on Nolan as the Monarchs just responded to my inquiry:
Upper body injury.
Some thoughts from Martin Brodeur’s interview.
“But the league really had almost the same attitude as the last time around,” Brodeur said. “And with the last few weeks and the way they’ve conducted themselves, I don’t know what’s in the back of their heads, but they seem to be on a path that we saw seven years ago and it’s not something that’s fun to see. …
“For me, it’s just disappointing,” he later added. “Because of the structure we had already in place, I didn’t think we needed to be still talking about it by [U.S.] Thanksgiving. But that’s what it looks like now.”
IMHO for many fans if the full season is lost, then so is their interest in it. For me I will stay with the Kings, but likely won’t be going to or watching any other NHL. A shorten season is a huge disappointment, and if they do run playoffs thru to the last week of June. The Championship team of 2013 will have a huge Cup Hangover the next season.

@luc20rules, Nah, they won’t have played a full season. The hangover won’t be as bad as it seems.

Watching the storm footage (like many people) and they continue to get water drops all over the lens. Sometimes the camera man wipes the lens while the telecast is going which the view can see, but it just gets rain on it again.
The solution is simple. Have an aftermarket retrofit lens which fits over most any camera and spins at a fast enough rpm to keep the lens looking clear as a bell. CNC machines have this with coolant and it works perfectly.
I already have too many patents I’m working on. Someone want to run with it, go for it! If it works out take me to a Kings game!

I am starting to fall into I do not care anymore mode. I needed to see something positive like this…
On a side note, TSN has been blocking all my comments about the owners living up to their contracts (they need to “approve” every comment) and only letting player bashing comments in. If they do let one slip, it gets instantly downgraded. Meanwhile on ESPN, all posts go through and people are sided with the players. Anyone else noticing this?

Sebastian Reply:

@WTF, i noticed everyone on TSN was siding with the owners and bashing players. whats the point of allowing comments if youre going to spin them. i thought tsn was supposed to be a trusted source.
the season is toast! the NHL has already said they gave their “best offer”. if their best offer was not taken then what makes anyone think the players will take their next offer?
now, more games have been canceled, money has been lost, so the leagues next proposal will reflect this and it will be a worse offer than their last. they will put a deadline on it, players will reject, all games for December will get canceled. repeat process for january and around february they will call the season lost….again.
