Over the past 20 years, Dreams Take Flight has provided the trip-of-a-lifetime to over 20,000 physically, mentally or socially challenged children, making a major difference in these children’s lives by opening a window of possibilities without limitations. My wife Susie has been a volunteer with Dreams Take Flight over the last 8 years and last Tuesday I finally was able to make the trip to the “happiest place on earth”.
Daryl Evans joined Susie and me and many other volunteers in hopes that our trip to Disneyland will have positive affect upon these young people now and in the future. My thanks to all of the volunteers, especially the nurses and healthcare professionals who gave their time to make sure the day was safe for everyone.
Thanks also goes out to everyone at LAX who helped make this day extra special for the kids. For more information on Dreams Take Flight please visit www.dreamstakeflight.ca

great stuff, JIM…(!)
you and SUSIE and DARYL and everybody else who volunteered are awesome…i’m sure you guys made it an unforgettable experience to all those you were able to touch…
it’s really fantastic of you, JIM, to devout so much of yr free time to charitable organizations not just here in los angeles, but nationwide…
thanks for putting a smile on my face during this time of frustration and disappointment with the NHL…putting things in proper perspective, there’s a lot more important things in life than just hockey…(i think)…hehe…:)

Just scrolling through everything and reading the conversations on the last few threads have totally reinforced the belief that Kings fans and organization are the best in hockey.

@Lake Forest,
Hey @Stuart, I hope that new bundle of joy is wrapped in a Kings Stanley Cup rally towel. If not, let me know, we will trade addresses, and I will send you one of my extra ones from Game #6 as a “Welcome To The Kingdom” gift. Congrats to you and Mrs. @Stuart!

No wonder the hockey fan base is so strong with so much great charity work being done by those affiliated with the league.

That is awesome!! Good job Jimmy
and to all those involved.

I just want to say that this is refreshing to hear about all the great things going on in the organization. We’ll miss you Rich, but I think this is a great transition for the Insiders. Thank you Jim, Bob, Nick & Daryl for all the work that you all do. Can’t wait to illegally stream some hockey games from some Swedish video sharing webpage when the lockout ends because my sorry butt is stuck 1,000 miles from FSW coverage.
Best of luck to everyone during the lockout…except you Craig Leipold-you’re a hypocrite. And you know what I say to people who don’t chew Big Red.

Jim,
You and Bob are two of a kind. It’s amazing and exemplary how much you and your families give of your own time to help others. Hats off to you both!

Looks like a great time all around. Nothing more precious than giving time to those kids. It’s a Small but Wonderful World indeed

@DesertKing,
I live in the scv just about fifteen minutes away from magic mountain… I just got home to find out it was there and I’m so sad. I was literally having lunch right down the street and had no idea.

@Subby, yeah it is…and so is hockey. If so called insiders couldn’t care less…just imagine all the casual fans running back to the nba and nfl…

@Subby, No reason for that attitude. Yeah I miss Rich’s style but Jim Fox has superior hockey knowledge and we should have some great discussions.

@Pili,
Only if Jim, Bob and others with hockey and INSIDE knowledge make themselves as available on a regular basis as Rich did. Otherwise, this turkey is dead, finito, kaput, muerto, bury the sucker kinda state.

@Subby,
Dead? Hell no, we ain’t dead yet! Was America dead after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? NO. Were the Kings dead after TM decided to put in JB after JQ had 3 straight shut-outs? Almost. Were the Kings dead after we lost Frozen Fury last year and the odds of us winning the Cup were 28-1? No. Were the Kings dead after Ryan the Cheater/Liar Clowe (obviously a close relative of Buttman) stuck his stick on the ice and helped us lose a crucial game to the SJ Snarks? NO. Were the Kings dead after losing SCF games 4 & 5 back-to-back? NO. Were the Kings dead before the play-offs when everyone gave us no chance of winning the Cup? NO. We ain’t dead and despite our heavy losses (FF, HockeyFest,pre-season, opening day, Rich Hammond, first part of the season), we will not give up until Buttman and the rest of his cronies are driven out of office and replaced by competent leaders who place the needs of the fans who pay the bills as #1! Until then, toga, Toga, TOGA, TOGAAAAA!!!!

@Subby, frankly this site is quiet because well, there’s nothing really to report. Even if there were period-by-period updates on all the Reign and Monarch games it would be pretty quiet. I’d rather have the Kings spend a little time extra finding a good replacement rather than hiring someone else to jump into a generally slow news cycle.
Heck you go to any hockey website on the web (TSN, etc) right now and they’re sorta making-up content around CBA angles. I’m in interested in the developments of some of our kids in the farm, but i’ve just been going straight to their sites for that stuff
I’m now going to eat several Lemonheads and Pixy Stix now.
