2 words come to mind…they are the ones I screamed out when the buzzer rang in Game 6. One starts with an F, another with a Y(es).

How bittersweet. The players names get engraved on the Cup forever after a year long quest that took them to the top, yet they can’t even walk onto Kings or NHL property. Thank you Mr. Bettman for your leadership and wisdom. You are now prepared to become the leader of a Borg collective.

@DesertKing, How can we impeach this non-fan of hockey? 3 counts of crimes against humanity, biased, callous.. every love story needs a villain i guess..

Rich, is there a way to see the full list of names going on the cup?

@sarah,
I’d like to know that too. There are basic rules but there are some exemptions allowed too so the list isn’t exactly set in stone although if it’s got an engraver date, I’d say the whole list has been submitted.

@sarah, a lot of us have been mildly curious about this since the Kings jumped on the Beelzebubs early in Game 6, and a Cup engraving of the LA Kings became apparent. the permitted number of names will obviously include not only scouts, trainers and equipment procurers/managers, but probably bean counters and higher-end salespeople. a few folks that may do their job well, but that most fans don’t especially care a rodent’s rear end about. in terms of guys that lace ‘em up, Whiskey and Scooter are the putative question marks. As a player under contract, Drewiske’s a definite, but I expect Parse, probably done wearing the black and white, gets carved as well. he was included in the team’s official SC Championship photo (awesome photo!), i’d expect (and hope for) his name on the Cup. as to the corporate paper-pushers and account executives — anybody in insiderland have a jones for a particular suit?

@sarah,
Yes, I’d like to know as well! I am curious to see if Westgarth and Drewiske make it on there. I don’t believe they made the regular season games requirement, and they did not play in the playoffs. But I do hope they make it on there, since they were a big part of the team. I am also interested to see if, by any chance, Terry Murray makes it (I know he’s getting a ring). Even though a lot of people did not like him, but there’s no denying that he was an integral part of the team’s growth that led them to the Cup.
