For those who have been asking/wondering, the Kings’ official Stanley Cup championship commemorative book is now available to pre-order. Every copy of the book will include a DVD of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals, with the play-by-play call by Bob Miller and Jim Fox, recorded live during the game. The DVD will also include the call from Nick Nickson and Daryl Evans, plus some special video footage of each Kings goal.
There are two editions of the book. The $60 version includes the book and the DVD. A $450 version includes the book, the DVD, a piece of authentic board glass from Game 6, special leather binding and a special hard case. Only 450 copies of this edition will be printed.
This is definitely a substantial book. It’s a large, hard-cover book with hundreds of great photos, lengthy written recaps of the entire season and special contributions from folks such as Luc Robtaille, Bob Miller, Tim Leiweke, Dustin Brown, Darryl Sutter and other team members. The book is available by calling 877-257-4916, or click below for more information…
Rich-
Is this only available in DVD format, or will it be available on Blu-Ray?

@Tyler, Blue ray would be where it’s at!!
Management should’ve timed this closer to the expiration date of the CBA!
oh well, I probably won’t be watching any other hockey until this comes in the mail!

As much as I want that book and DVD, its very difficult for me to justify spending even a CENT on anything related to a league that repeatedly turns its back on us fans.

@Sebastian,
Agree!
I was going to respond to someone earlier about this but you have stated it just right. All we hear is “the fans need to stand up to the owners”.
Well, here ya go.
I have no problem with anyone buying this product. Just don’t go on about how everybody needs to boycott the NHL and all it’s products. Simple, either you boycott or you don’t. Selective demonstration is weak at best.

Got my limited edition book. Woohoo!

Also available from teamlastore.com for those who are phone adverse…

Yeah, I won’t spend a cent on the NHL this year, ‘except’ for this book. Bob and Jim’s call is worth it’s weight in Gretzky autographed rookie cards.

@Donald_S,
Got my book order in. That was the main reason I’ve been checking Rich’s blog. Now I’ll bid you guys farewell until/if they settle this. Haven’t watched football in many years, I guess the time is now. Best wishes to all on the blog, and of course most especially to Rich for all his hard work.

I ordered this online at the team la website on Friday. That website said that only the first 10,000 copies of the $60 package would include the game 6 DVD. Now this morning I see that all orders will include the DVD and that you can only purchase by phone. What’s the deal? Can someone please clarify this for me? And also, my order number was 11,000 something. That led me to believe that I would not be receiving the DVD. So do I get the DVD now or what? Who knows what’s going on here?

@CheebaHawk95, My order is like 12700 and was told all will include the video, and it is the entire game being voice tracked with Bob and Jim, Not sure if Nick is a radio call or also overlaid. The estimated delivery date is 10/15/12

Want the book for the DVD Bob Miller call. Won’t buy it until this CBA madness is over. Who the heck do the owners think we are? This is their responsibility. They had the opportunity to put their house in order 8 years ago and apparently failed.
I cannot be the slightest bit sympathetic to them at this point.

@Weasel, Whether you buy it before or after, what impact does that make on the owners?

@LomitaKingsFan,
The players will not receive any money from these sales. Profits go to the Kings (read: Owners)
If ALL proceeds go to the Kings charities then you have a different scenario

@LomitaKingsFan,
Just personal. I started bpycotting Fank McCourt Dodgers a year before that became popular. I’m more reactionary than most, but I’m a die hard 40 year Kings fan and I’m not sure how hard it will be to forgive the league if the lockout cuts into the season again.
[Reply]
No, no no. No Cash till the puck drops. I will be keeping my money away from the NHL. A pox on both players and owners.
[Reply]
I’ll be keeping my money too. Get a deal done…it’s ridiculous
[Reply]
Rich,
Can you confirm that orders are only available by calling? The Kings’ website says online orders will not be accepted, yet on teamlastore.com they seem to be taking orders. Anyone else feel free to weigh in. Thanks!
[Reply]
I was wondering about the phone ordering only too. I purchased it online at the Team LA Store last week and received a confirmation that the payment has cleared. Does it make any difference between how you order it?
[Reply]
If I decide to buy one, how much goes to the owners and how much goes to the players???
[Reply]
Question about the DVD…is this the WHOLE game with Bob and Jim and Nick and Darryl calling it or is it just the last few seconds of the game? I’m getting the impression it’s just the end of the game.

@Dan H., It better be the whole game! From the vibe I am getting here, if the Kings DO play this season, they may not sell out all the games like last year. Alot of angry fans out there! Including myself. So much for the Kings momentum.
[Reply]
Srew your book! PLAY HOCKEY!!!
[Reply]
I just bought a commemorative book with all the money I’m going to save this year from not having to buy Kings tickets. Sad day indeed.
[Reply]
This is the last thing I’m going to buy from the Kings this year. I already cancelled my Center Ice package from DirecTV and Sirius XM Radio since I only got it for the NHL Home Ice station. I’m only going to be watching Kings games (if there is any) from my seat at home and not spending a dime on tickets this year. More money in my pocket is going to feel nice.
[Reply]
As if the lockout wasn’t bad enough…
I finally got around to calling to order the book, and got a message saying essentially that they can’t sell any because of the lockout!!! So now we’re locked out of being able to buy a commemorative book?!?!?!?!?
ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!
