Breakfast of champions in Slovenia

Anze Kopitar’s Friday with the Stanley Cup in Slovenia started sometime after 7 a.m. Twenty minutes later, Kopitar posted a picture on Twitter, followed by a brief video from Phil Pritchard, who is known as the “keeper of the Cup.” Kopitar, it seems, had a bowl of his favorite cold cereal out of the Cup this morning — video linked here — after he, well, got it out of bed.

Phil Pritchard noted that Slovenia is the 24th country that the Cup has visited. Kopitar has been posting a series of awesome pictures from Slovenia today, so to see all of them, check out the Twitter accounts of Kopitar and Pritchard.

Also, on an unrelated note, a reminder that today is the start of the Kings’ development camp in El Segundo, with an-ice sessions now (8 a.m. start), 9:40 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Full information is available by clicking here.

    Best. Summer. Ever. The day after SCF Game 6 I was wondering how long would the feeling last…but it keeps lasting longer and longer… What a great tradition this is.

    @dkrasne, Agreed. Something else I enjoy is the short summer: Win the Cup, Draft, Free Agency, and now the Development camp? LOVE IT!

    @dkrasne,

    I watched the Nickson call and Brown’s rally speech about the only thing missing was Bob’s call of the games last night. Still got choked up.

    @magnum69,
    I think Fox alluded to some legality stuff that had to clean up before they released the DVD.

    It’s nice to see that they are letting the Cup rest after all it has been through…the jet lag alone must be exhausting!

    Oh and, I hate it when that dang cup steals the pillow and sheets in the middle of the night. Oh and to cuddle up with it is like a frozen butterball. And look at all the men she has been with!

    Still seems surreal that we have the Cup but I love seeing someone who has worked as hard to improve his game, and himself as a person, having his day with the Cup. I couldn’t be happier that he is representing our team and I can’t think of a better guy to do it. Congratulations to the Kopitars!
