The Stanley Cup certainly gets around, and tonight it has a great host. Bob Miller got a night with the Cup, and true to his nature, he invited more than 100 folks to come out and enjoy the night with him and his wife, Judy. Picture time just wrapped up, and here’s a great one of Bob, Jim Fox, Nick Nickson and Daryl Evans. More pictures later, and to those I met tonight, hello!

I have the COD, Its in the condition it was sold as. It has the original price tag of $1500.
What do you price this jersey as now? Its 1 of a kind. Game worn. Luc’s retirement night. Browns actually GAME WORN jersey. Signed by both players.

What a great moment! I have been a KINGS fan since 1972, to see Bob Miller get to have the Stanley Cup is truly amazing. What a great man, and well deserved moment. Bob has been there thru thick and thin, rough times, promising times, let downs, disappointments, Miracles, the Red Wing series down 3-0 3 plus minutes to go, LA has been blessed to have Vin Scully, Chick Hearn, and Bob Miller the best in each sport, ICONS. Very happy for you Bob, Nick, Jim, and Darrel. ENJOY, you earned it more than anyone else.

My wife and I were at the game where Bob Miller was honored by the Kings for (I think) 25 years of service. It just so happened that we were sitting right next to his wife and family and after the first intermission, Bob came and watched the rest of the game with his family and right next to my wife and I.
All I can say about the guy and his family is that they are genuine people. Bob talked with my wife and I like he had known us forever and made us a part of celebrating that milestone which was, obviously, a very special event for him and his family.
Watching him FINALLY have a day with the cup is awesome and could not have happened to a better King.
Congrats Bob.

@King’ntheD, I was at the 25th anniversary game (vs. Chicago in 1998 at the Forum). Was fitting that the Kings won that game, 3-0 since Bob’s first call as Kings broadcaster was a 3-0 loss to the Hawks in October 1973. I’ve never had the opportunity to talk to him, but I have seen him with other fans and has always been gracious, patient and never allowing himself to be bigger than the game. He is deserving of every kind thing that can come his way, and I agree completely that seeing him and Nick, Jim and Daryl with the Cup means almost as much to me as seeing it in the players’ hands. The beauty of this Stanley Cup win is it has demonstrated that the Kings and their fans have become very much a family. I think we always knew it but now it’s out there for everyone to see. Peace,

@Joemv8, the question would be, what does Shane Doan bring that isn’t already supplied in greater proportion by someone currently on the roster? There are better fits for him and his services than LA, and this is someone who still thinks highly of Doan’s body of work despite the incidents in the WCF series.

I started watching hockey when the NFL was on strike during the late 80′s. As a socal native I was never exposed to hockey (except fighting clips). Bob and Jim cleared up a lot of confusion (icing vs PP clearing, two line pass, etc.) when explaining on ice action/rulings. If it wasn’t for them I probably would have lost interest and hockey would still be one of those “other” sports.
Congratulations Bob and Jim, and Thank You.

So well deserved for Bob and the boys. It’s the culmination of a lot of suffering and trying to paint a bright picture on an organization that was brutal for so long.
Without ever speaking to Jim, I could always tell on the broadcasts that he saw something with this team over the past 5 years that gave him and us fans hope that something like this might one day come to fruition. He understood that Lombardi’s plan was the only plan that offered a bluprint to success and kept reminding us of it even thru the tough times of Willsie, Calder, Nagy, LaBarbara, etc.
I don’t about you guys, but I can’t wait for the new season to begin. I miss the games already..inlcuding the 10:30 eastern time starts

Was supposed to be 300, but he patiently and gracefully continued on well beyond the scheduled time. I spoke with a member of the Kings’ staff, who summed Dustin up as “a good dude”. My wife and I droves 800 miles from southern Alberta to see game 1 of the Vancouver series. Down deep I knew that the play-offs were going to be special and the voices of the Kings have made the experience throughout the years Royal. We Kings fans are family, regardless of where located or how long they have been aboard (I saw a game in their first season, and was pretty much hooked by about 1971.)
