Sights from postgame locker room

Here are a few more images, this time from the scene in the Kings’ locker room after the game, with the great shots provided by the Kings’ team photographers…

    Putting the top 5 in order:

    Have fun with the 30th pick CBJ

    mrbrett7 Reply:

    @BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy, Only way NJ is in there is if Parise stays. Henrique is going to be REALLY good, but he isn’t at that level.

    Also, add Pittsburgh to that list. Ottawa still doesn’t have consistent enough defense in front of a consistent goaltender.

    BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy Reply:

    @mrbrett7, @ten for instigating,

    Gotta feeling that team is about to implode.
    I’d have more faith in DET without Lindstrom than them.

    Glad none of you felt NYR should be included…

    NJ is going to only get deeper & better… Sweet Lou will see to that.
    OTT has tapped into something great. TB is similar…

    Oh, and WHEN will the Kings do the immense bar tab gig?

    mrbrett7 Reply:

    @BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy, Sorry…I was distracted by the blonde.

    The NYR will always be in it as long as they have Henry…but, they have big holes on defense outside of their top 4, and it remains to be seen if they can produce offense outside of the top line.

    I do think Kris Kreider is going to be a good one, so long as Tortorella isn’t his coach.

    After taking in his performances in this SCF series I have changed my mind on Zach Parise’s potential value to The Kings big time … well, maybe not.
    The good news is he’d look a hell (!) of a lot better playing against anyone OTHER than Coach Sutter’s throttling defensive corps.
    Maybe they could make anyone not look good!

    @Coach Mike,

    And there were plenty, even among us, that thought/predicted we would lose if it went 7 games. I definitely did not feel that way. My confidence was more than anything based on the quality of the team – and whoever said Quick couldn’t be beaten four times in a row was reminding all of the obvious.

    I could not afford the time this was taking from so I am especially extra glad that it’s been done.

    That “winning feeling” is like a bonus hormone and it’s not subsiding yet. Puts “runners high” to shame.

    This was one of the most exciting playoff runs in the last 20 years.
    LA Kings, 8th place team, a farmer from Alberta as Coach, *** 29th place regular season scoring (*** there’s only 30 teams), beat down the west- 1 (Vancouver -President Trophy winner), 2 St. Louis, 3 Phoenix, NJ east winner with Brodeur-future Hall of Famer. This run took 16- 4 games. These stats a truly incredible.

    @Bonvivant1,

    Even if they were to win the cup (and we all know how hard it is to repeat), imo, there’s no way they could top what they did this year. I mean, what team in the last 20 years has beaten all the top seeds and then stormed out to 3-0 leads in every series. No, sorry mate. That isn’t gonna happen to anyone… not even the Oilers or Islanders in their prime.

    If you can lace em up, no excuses.
    there were Kings who were hurt as well, but their was no talk about that.
    Perhaps it was the Devils or Kovalsuck quietly releasing the information about his injury to certain reporters?

    It comes across as an excuse…

    I don’t understand why players play when they are in such bad shape. Contracts$$$ ?, pride, ego? I’d rather see a 100% healthy “Black Aces” player trying his hardest- especially in such a high stakes series, than an overpaid $$$ player playing hurt at 60%.
    Watching the games Kovalchuk shied away from the heavy hitting.
