The Kings and the New Jersey Devils are expected to go with the same lineups they used in Game 4. Both teams held optional morning skates today at Prudential Center.
It was a vintage Darryl Sutter media session. Asked about the speed with which they playoffs seem to be passing, Sutter both noted that today is Jack Ferreira’s birthday and that “Farmers Day” celebrations are taking place in Alberta this weekend. “A big picnic with coolers,” Sutter explained. You’ll have to look that up for yourself. More notes and quotes to come…
Good morning insiders. Going to be a great day. GKG!

I am predicting a 3-1 Kings victory. I also think Gagne will play a little on line 2 or 3 and have an impact. Bring home the Cup. GKG!

@John,
Brad Richardson is very fast & an all around great player! Brad really should be in tonight’s line up. Gagne isn’t showing the strength they need for tonight.

In order to win……….
-out hit them
-out shoot them
-more traffic then them at the net
-score more
-need bigger bodies
……..if we are going to bring home stanley

Both teams seem to have too much respect for each other. Maybe because they see each other so rarely and neither team has really polarizing characters but this series is really low on the hate. In 93 I remember Bob Miller talking about how the team back then just didn’t have the hate going against the Canadiens. I sense a lot of the same here. I want to see a passionate team filled with pure unadulterated rage against this devils squad.
Knock Henrique and his stache down a notch. Bring back that animosity towards Kovalchuk. No love for the legend until his career guardig the NJ net is over. Get revenge for ruining what would have been an epic party last week.
Bring. Home. The. Cup.

@pk,
What you call too much respect I call being afraid of making the first mistake… and it’s leading, generally, to fewer scoring chances than these two very good teams should be producing which leads to more fear that the first mistake = the first goal = a loss. Vicious cycle. Play aggressively and work harder… put pucks on net and good things happen.

Tonight “play the game.. take the cup” Los Angeles Kings have proven to be the better team, now it is time to finsh.
I know these players are ready. I hope we celebrate tonight. Good luck LA KINGS , fans and insiders!

So I have bought tickets several times before thru the Shmucks TixExchange before to go see Kings at the Honda…Well…I guess they stole my email address cus I got an email saying that today is their “Open House” for potential 2012-2013 season ticket holders….
HA HA…Last I check this morning…the 2011-2012 season isn’t over yet. I guess they assume Kings are gonna take this one!….
They are trying to grab as many dozen fans as they can before those Duck fans (who are from southern California and were once Kings fans)…jump off the ship again to rejoin the Kingdom…..I can’t believe how many Duck fans I’ve run into lately and say the like the Kings cus they used to Kings fans.
Oh…and by the way…once we take “IT”…be prepared. You know how Duck fans always say:…”We have a cup, where’s yours?”….well now I’m hearing..”Yeah., but we got it first and it only took us 14 years”…..stupid Shmucks!…What have you done lately?…I hope Foxy puts his ring on and smacks Hayward on the forehead next time he pulls it out of his coat pocket.
GO KINGS!!!!!!

@RQ@315, I am tired of that Ducks fan swill as well and, when they jump ship and root for the Kins now, it seems they never lose. Brian Hayward has created a fanbase of ill-informed whiners with his homerism. Shameful.

If our team gets it done today, we can have our own “picnic on the lawn with coolers”.

Do people give presents on Farmers Day? Time for the Kings to give one to their coach, I’d say.

NBC
Like a lot of people, I’ve noticed the bias in the announcers toward NJ. But I was curious if anyone knows why when the games are in Newark, they are broadcast on NBC – the main network – and why when they’re in Los Angeles, they’re broadcast on NBC Sports – the cable channel? Is this just the east coast bias?

Will the Farmers Only.com reps be at the picnic?(“city folks just don’t get it”)
