Devils 1, Kings 0: The Devils broke the scoreless tie 7:56 into the period, at the end of a strong shift of cycling the puck. Quick made the save on Bryce Salvador’s point shot, but with traffic in front, Patrik Elias jumped on the rebound and scored. Dainius Zubrus also picked up an assist.
Kings 1, Devils 1: Just six seconds after the Devils’ goal, New Jersey’s David Clarkson was called for boarding, and the Kings scored six seconds into the ensuing power play. Anze Kopitar won the faceoff, and Mike Richards passed across the blue line to Drew Doughty, who ripped a slap shot through traffic and beat Brodeur.
