    @Coach Mike,

    True’dat. @Coach Mike. Really do not know what to expect tonight. But Kings fans do not be deterred by a loss tonight. Kings cannot be had in less than 6 in this series and if that’s the case we’re on Staples ice playing for at least a chance for a barnburner Game 7.

    Kings will keep coming people. They’ve taken a lot of punches-in-the-mouth, but just spit out the teeth and keep coming. Kings do not HAVE to have this one tonight. Hard to accept after all the anticipation… but true.

    On the other hand. I think the Devils ABSOLUTELY need this one tonight.

    I like this scenario going in.

    I gotta say, back in 93 when the Kings went for the cup and lost, I really wasnt that upset. At the time, it was the 1st time as a fan that I had ever been past the 2nd round, and beating Vancouver in game 6 at the Forum was a huge thrill.

    This time around, gotta say, getting this far and losing would be a disapointment for me because I believe The Kings have convinced me up til this point that no team can beat them in a 7 game series right now.

    I will take the Kings in 5 games. I really believe The Devils, like every other team that has played us is going to be shocked at the size, speed, and forecheck!

    Anyway, everyone enjoy this….because you never know when the Kings may be back in the finals.

    Lets get this damn cup once and for all !

    @puck73, This will be the toughest test yet for this team. The devils haven’t gotten this far by chance. Yes the kings probably went through tougher opponents than the devils but those guys are going up be pumped to win the cup just as much as our boys. I expect a great series but too believe the kings have the better team on paper at pretty much every position and our depth is superior as well. As you said if the kings play the way they have the first three rounds I like our chances but nobody should expect to go up 3 games to zero again. Tonight’s game is huge to keep it rolling though because most winners of game 1 go on to win a series.

    Went to my first game in October, 1970. I’ve bled purple and gold, silver and black ever since. After we lost in 1993 I figured we’d be back soon, well that didn’t happen. So to me losing is not an option! There’s no guarantee we’ll get back next year or any other year, and I ain’t getting any younger.

    It does piss me off that I can’t afford to go to any of these games and these band wagon so called celebrities who could really care less will be sitting in a seat that should be used for die hard Kings fans only! Oh well, it could be worse, I could have been born in Angola.

    Getting real nervous about now. I’m going to be a wreck during the games. Am I a week or two from having a life long dream come true?

Same thing happened in 93 so I’m not surprised. But it does leave a bitter taste. Oh well, I have my seat with all the leg room I need, I got my munchies, and the bathroom ain’t crowded and I don’t have to drive so hey, as Romy says, “it’s all good”. GKG!!!!!

    @SLIM, Right. They haven’t played a team as big as the Kings, nor one where every line comes at you as hard as our boys do. Man, do I hope they just crush the Devils!

    Jeff_R Reply:

    @lakingbob(chi), I really like Doc. Would love for it to be Bob, but since we can’t have him, Doc is next best thing. I know he was a Devils guy, but he is very unbiased in his reporting. Thank G-D no Hayward.

    Thry’ve got to win! In1972, I cried when my then-favorite team, the Rangers (because I liked their colors) lost to the Bruins. I was 12. Twenty-one years later, my Favorite team made it back – the Kings. They lost. Tears welled up again.

    Now, 19 years later… I can’t keep waiting two decades for my team to win!
