For those who have asked about a Kings practice schedule, it’s very much up in the air. The team is scheduled to meet in El Segundo at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, but the chances of a full-team practice are probably 50-50 at best. The Kings will also spend at least Friday and Saturday in Los Angeles, and would prefer to fly East on Monday, but that is still to be determined.
Also, here’s one more look at Dustin Penner’s overtime goal, this one synched up to Nick Nickson’s radio call…
thank you for that. Wish I could of heard Bob call it.

I’m not sure what was funnier, Rozsival’s “embellishment” after Penner tapped him (c’mon dude, you’re making the game dishonest) or Hanzal’s final shift where he a) cheapshotted Richards after the faceoff, b) missed a check on Voynov and c) let Carter’s rebound bounce past him and onto Penner’s stick for the GWG. @Diego, I use the Iheart app on my iPhone and send it to my AppleTV which is hooked up to my stereo. It is behind the TV, but I can sync up the DVR. It has been a lot better than listening to the NBC guys. Keep in mind, if you don’t have unlimited data, turn off cellular data, otherwise when the iPhone goes to sleep, you drop wi-fi and will automatically switch to cellular data. Found out the hard way during the St. Louis series, saw that I used 50MB which put me over my limit.

From nhl.com: “possibly having Miller and Fox call a potential Cup-clinching game, outside the NBC broadcast, if the Kings got in that position. The logistics are tricky, but the idea would be to record a Miller-Fox “broadcast” for later availability to fans, perhaps on DVD or the Internet.”

@Paul Armbruster (KingsNewsDaily.com), The electronic logistics are doable but these are two completely different sources. The radio can use low datarate and the audio of the video feed has to get slowed down. Video compression dislodges audio to video relationships for very complex video content.
Contracts are another thing and the league is stronger for national exposure.
If you could set up a deal with NBC for pay per listen and find a delivery scheme, where there’s a profit there’s ano way. Sucks though for Miller and Fox. M outright deserves it and Foxy’s always bled Forum blue.

Two more things I just noticed watching the clip since last night we were too busy celebrating right after the goal: 1) before the goal the ‘Yotes fans are sitting on their hands during the OT not rooting on their team unlike Staples and 2) look at the fan behind the goal, right after Penner scores he gets up and leaves in a flash.

I didn’t have time for a retortarella ‘cos some 22 year old preppy punk threw his franchise issued pom poms at me from two rows back.

It was amazing to see (though I predicted it last night) the odd mention today of the magnificent Dusty Penn’s taking a salary haircut come contract establishment time at the end of the season.
At this point it is becoming quite obvious that our pretty decent goaltender, Jonathan Quick, should negotiate a reasonable deal, somewhere in the region of $4.2 Mil, so that the newly unhibernating grizzly is able to be given the extra $Mils that will keep him a King, and leading our charge for many years yet.
We have to do something.
I even heard the Hershey Bears are making enquiries, presumably planning for him to do double duty as a player/mascot, or something.
Get this done Quickie and Deano, so we can clear the air and get back to ‘bruin hockey’!

@SLIM, I agree if I had to pick, for sure it would be stoll. I don’t see Lokti centering the third line. King can move up to the second to spell Penner. It just all depends on what each player is looking for and what the Kings see their needs are. What kids are ready to play with the big club.
Remember DL like strength down the middle, he would put a kid on the wing but at center…..

@SLIM, both for a hometown discount.
I dont see many other teams waning them unless its for Vet leadership, they had kinda a rough regular season. And why not stick with the Kings for another run.

@SLIM, I was just going to say JC and MR did that hometown discount and look where it got them. It is tough though, what do you pay Stoll or Penner?
Brown only has 2 years left on his deal, that will get a huge increase.
Off topic, but does anyone know where the kings stay when they travel to NYC and Newark?

Nick Nickson is great, great, great. Kings’ Fans have a lot to be thankful for today, the loss of our TV team notwithstanding.
I like all the King’s players and it’s fantastic to see the team play to its capability.
Dustin Brown is the biggest hero right now and a class of a person. His last hit was clean and timely and the Suns need to learn how to shut it.
Shane Done is one of the five dirtiest players in hockey and a big dumb classless phony. He a lot like Charlie Barkelly. A hero for those with a headful of screws.

I’d love to see them send out a goon line, and King skates around them, deeks the goalie, and slides it over to Fraser for another goal. They try it again, and Carter scores on a onetimer from the slot off a feed from Richards. They try it again, and Penner makes them back off, before Stoll drives the net, and scores.
Then after they score 2 goals, and pull the goalie, QUICK gains possession, and flings it down ice, and scores an empty netter.

An important question. My opinion is that if Brown didn’t touch the Campbell bowl then you shouldn’t buy the hat. Then again, they did put on the hats. But as a fan we don’t have a chance to touch the trophy (so sad but true, although if we win the Cup I am determined to drink beer from that Cup with the players, somehow, some way). Not buying the hat is your way as a fan to show support for Brown’s decision not to touch the Campbell Bowl. And it is all about unity this time of year so I’ll stick with my original conclusion: Wait for the real celebration.

Did I miss something here? From all the commotion and antics by the Yotes and their fans after the game, one would have thought it was game 7 — where a bounce that would end up in the Kings net would somehow propel the Yotes into the SCF’s without having to win 4 games? The series was won 4-1. The Yotes didn’t show up, IMO, until game 4 of the series. They looked great in game 4 and 5, but a totally different team than games 1-3. Yet, they looked like we stole/robbed the Western Conference trophy from them. The look of shock and awe by the Coyotes players that resembled their expensive cars being stolen from them after the non-call and the Kings game winner by Penner. Where the Yotes players and fans seemed to think that the collision with Brown just prior to the goal was the reason the whole series was lost?!? Is it just me?!? I am ready to ignore the media and whatever the Phoenix Coyotes and their fans have to say, because the Kings won the series 4-1.

I don’t want to seem cocky or anything, but for those whio h ave watched the Devils-Ranger series, does anyone think either of those teams can compete with LA?
I can’t see a series with either of them going more than 5.
I think the Rangers are the better team in the series, but in order for them to win, they have to go 7 games for the 3rd straight series. They only play 5 D’men and their tongues are hanging out the sides of their mouths. Lundqvist is good, but not better than JQ.
I think we’ve played the toughest team so far and that was Vancouver. None of these teams left or the teams we played since that series can come close to the talent that the Nucks had.

Does anyone know if they’re going to be opening Staples Center (doubtful) or someplace large for away game watch parties? I think it would be more fun to watch the game with a bunch of fans then to sit at home and yell at my TV.

That will never get old! Nick Nickson is a radio icon to me, he has a great style for radio. Thanks for setting that up, now I feel we can really enjoy that special moment a little more with one of our own calling the GW. That was special, nice job to wwhoever put that together.

If for some reason the Bob Miller broadcast(or recorded call) doesn’t happen(I’m really hoping someone can make this happen), is there a possibility to get a fully synched game with the Daryl Evans audio?

Awesome… hearing Nick just call that just made me realize it….we are going to the f-ing cup finals… Makes me speechless… Thank you Rich for posting this… Come on boys 4 more, we are ready for this….

You know what would be awesome? If the Kings win the Cup and they release all of the commemorative DVDs after they win, we get all of the games called by Bob & Jim that they could not call on television. In other words, maybe Bob & Jim are calling the games and being recorded, even though we don’t get to hear them. They sinc up Bob & Jim to the game footage and we can relive the entire journey through their eyes on the commemorative DVDs. I know it is a long shot, but man that would be sweet! I’d pay $100 for that box set!
