Nashville was on the minds of both head coaches today. With the temperature expected to reach 108 degrees in Glendale, Ariz., today, Coyotes coach Dave Tippett was asked about playing hockey in Arizona. Tippett said, “I have no problem with the temperatures. (It’s)108, but it’s a dry heat. [laughter] We had a game two weeks ago in Nashville, I think it was mid 90s with humidity. I’ll take 108 dry, over humidity. Not that I’m saying Nashville is a bad place.’’
Darryl Sutter didn’t address it specifically, but the bet is that he prefers Nashville. Sutter showed off one of the colorful, cowboy-style dress shirts that he bought in Nashville a couple months ago, which Sutter purchased when he forgot to pack shirts for a road trip. Apparently, it’s a habit. Sutter talked about how he borrows belts from Mike Richards and sometimes borrows ties from players.
SUTTER: “When I steal their ties, I tell them they’ve got $800 ties on, and $300 suits.’’
