Martin Hanzal will be back in the Phoenix lineup tomorrow for Game 4, after he served a one-game suspension for his hit on Dustin Brown. According to The Arizona Republic, at practice today the Coyotes went back to the top two lines they used to start the series, with Hanzal centering Ray Whitney and Radim Vrbata, and with Antoine Vermette centering Mikkel Boedker and Shane Doan. The Coyotes went with a third line of Daymond Langkow centering Taylor Pyatt and Lauri Korpikoski, and a fourth line of Boyd Gordon centering Kyle Chipchura and Marc-Antoinie Pouliot. On defense, it seems likely that Adrian Aucoin will return to the Coyotes’ lineup.
The big return, though, will be that of Hanzal, a big-bodied center (6-foot-6, 236 pounds) who has three goals and two assists in 10 playoff games and who, in the regular season, had eight goals and 26 assists in 64 games. Jeff Carter said the Kings expect Hanzal to have an impact.
CARTER: “He’s a big part of their team. He’s shown that all year, and in the playoffs here. He kind of maybe settles their minds down a bit, gets people into the right places. We know that he’s going to be fired up, coming out with a strong game after sitting out last game.”
“Jeff Carter said the Kings expect Hanzal to have an impact”
Hopefully with Dustin Brown’s shoulder, and then the boards…

How did you acquire the footage? I am trying to do the same thing , and would like to be able to edit sections for my own personal editing project.

Phoenix had 4 shots on goal in the 2nd and 3rd periods last game and everyone was saying they played their best game. If that is the case they need a lot more than Hanzal. One and done with their scoring chances won’t get Quick and the Kings defense out of position. Quick stays low, very low, but can’t be beat up high because he comes out of the net so far. Even when he comes across the crease he comes out and across. Quick is able to play this style because the Kings are so good defensively and eliminate any options or East West passes. Smith who is a huge goalie got beat up high by Kinger because he was so deep in the net. No matter how big a goalie is if he is deep in the net there will be holes to soot at. Phoenix in order to beat Quick need second and third chances off the original shot because they have nothing to shoot at and need to get Quick or the D out of position. The problem is they have not been able to have sustained pressure in the Kings zone this whole series.

@Osaka,
Two of their three goals were really softies. If the only way they can score is to hope for the opposing goalie to give up bad goals, well, good luck with that.

Correct. Then i wonder what their excuse will be if that had happened.
Can’t wait till Brown catches him with his head down.

Hanzal didn’t make a difference in game 1 or 2, they were shutout in game 2.

They always say it takes a playoff series or two to develop a real rivalry, now you what is meant. Regular season is nothing like this. Kings and Ducks can try to manufacture a rivalry but until we have a series with them like this in the playoffs….. I hope we face Phoenix in the playoffs again next year, things will really start to heat up.

@Osaka, Totally agree with the “rivalry” fabrication with the Ducks. However, I don’t think the Kings are giving much of a chance for rivalries to build so far. It’s like me flicking a fly off my shoulder.

@Osaka,
I somewhat agree with the manufactured rivalry w/ the Fowl (Freeway Faceoff, etc…), I do believe both teams get up for those games and no love is lost. Sharts & Dogs are driven by more than proximity. Either way, I love it.

@Osaka,
I don’t think this 1 series has sparked a hatred yet. It might take 2. It only took us 1 against Vancouver and that sight of a Canucks fan holding his arms in the air triumphantly when we lost a few seasons ago still burns in my gut.
This one hasn’t even been close so far, and if they get swept, there’s not really going to be any animosity from our end. If the series was closer, I think the nastiness would spill over into the regular season.
During the season there is still a great deal of satisfaction I get when it’s served up like filet Mignon on a plate by the Ducks.

I think Phoenix will give one last attempt to play a hard game without retaliation. They know it didn’t work for these past 3 games. L.A. needs to come out and establish the tone and play their own style that has been successful. I’m thinking sweep.

Like Hanzak made a difference in the 1st to games, seems to me 4-2 and 4-0 says it all, they played better without him.
We get Fraser back for our 4th line, fair trade me thinks.
