Brown postgame quotes (May 17)

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the play of the third line…)
BROWN: “I thought Stolly, especially probably more so the second half of the game for that line, I think we didn’t really, as a team, start out as well as wanted to, but Stolly really stood out to me with his jump. He jumped by two guys, drawing a penalty on one. He had opportunities left and right. That’s part of the reason we’re a successful team right now, is that we have everyone going. Different nights, we have players elevate their games. Kinger and Lewie, they work their bag off. Kinger is getting rewarded and Lewie maybe goes a little under the radar. I think he’s been important for us in this series. He does all the dirty work and makes a lot of plays for those two guys.’’

(on tying the game so quickly after Phoenix’s goal…)
BROWN: “I think that’s been maybe a knack for this team, in all the playoffs. Not necessarily the lead. I think we’re really focused on our starts, and getting off to good starts, but we’re getting really big momentum goals. Every series, we’ve gotten a goal within two or three minutes after the other team scores. It’s a two-way swing of momentum. I thought it really started to turn for us in maybe the last 10 minutes of the second.’’

(on the Kings’ strong third period…)
BROWN: “I think we probably didn’t play our best hockey in the first, and we found a way to get it to 1-1 into the third. At that point, we come in here and you’ve got 20 minutes to really put a stranglehold on the series. Again, that comes down to individuals getting themselves ready to go.’’
