Quick postgame quotes (May 13)

Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…

(on his teammates generating a lot of shots…)
QUICK: “They’ve been doing that all year. That’s no surprise. They put up a lot of shots all year.”

(on allowing the Derek Morris goal from the red line…)
QUICK: “I couldn’t have played it any differently. It’s a lucky bounce. Those things happen.”

(on his teammates picking him up after that…)
QUICK: “It was a team effort. We all worked hard, and it’s just one. This one is over with. We’re focused on (Game) 2 now. We’re focused on Game 2; that’s it.”

(on taking a 1-0 lead in the series…)
QUICK: “It’s always important. Every game is important. If you look at both us and Phoenix, this postseason, we both won Game 1 in each of the first two rounds. They know how important it is, and so do we. But it means nothing if we don’t win Game 2.”

(on Mikkel Boedker’s goal…)
QUICK: “They came in on the forecheck and he got in pretty hard there and he made a good play.”

(on whether he felt rusty at all, after the long layoff…)
QUICK: “No, no.’’

(on whether he would have preferred to see more shots early…)
QUICK: “Either way. Every game brings its own challenges, whether you get a lot of work or you don’t get a lot of work. Either way, it’s going to have its own challenge.’’

(on staying so calm after a big game…)
QUICK: “But we’re not where we want to be. We’ve got goals here in this locker room, and we’re not where we want to be. We know we can be better here, and it’s a new game on Tuesday, so that’s all we’re focused on.’’
