Kings 3, Blues 1: Dustin Brown scored an empty-net goal with 26 seconds remaining to clinch the victory.
SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It’s stil Quick vs. Elliott.
End of period: The Blues outshot the Kings 13-3 in the period. The Kings went 0-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
FIRST PERIOD
Officials: Wes McCauley, Dan O’Halloran (referees); Scott Driscoll, Pierre Racicot (linesmen).
Lineups: Kyle Clifford, Davis Drewiske, Andrei Loktionov and Kevin Westgarth are the Kings’ scratches.
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Quick against the Blues’ Brian Elliott.
Kings 1, Blues 0: The Kings failed to score on an early power play, but took the lead 30 seconds after it ended. The Blues lost control of the puck deep in their own zone, and the puck bounced to Jordan Nolan on the inside of the right circle. Nolan fired and scored. Dustin Penner picked up an assist.
Kings 1, Blues 1: The Blues tied the game on their second shot on goal of the period, with 8:26 remaining in the period. With the Kings in a line change, Barret Jackman pushed the puck up quickly to defensive partner Kevin Shattenkirk, who fired a long-range slap shot to the far post and beat Quick.
Kings 2, Blues 1: Dustin Brown’s goal gave the Kings the lead again with 1:43 remaining in the period. A nice breakout pass by Anze Kopitar found Brown’s stick, and he used a defenseman’s screen to take a long-range shot from the left side. The shot beat Elliott to the top far corner. Drew Doughty also picked up an assist.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Blues 10-4 in the period. The Kings went 0-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

A sweep could never have been envisioned! But the Kings did it…I’m dreaming…Kings played well at times and got extremely lucky at others but we’ll take it…Sometimes its better to be lucky than good(or is it good to be lucky) as they say…Now we await the Coyotes who’ll be the toughest test by far…Kings management had better get NBC to not schedule any more bloody noon time games it screws with all our players usual Prep time! Kings played superb in the 3 games but this one had me on the edge of my seat right from the time the Blues tied it. Thank goodness for good timing and luck and good work and one helluva shot by Brownie. The pass by Kopitar was heads up and the shot just fooled Elliot over his catching hand. That just took the wind out of their sails!!! AS per usual Quickie was solid if not great… Good Luck to all the Kingsmen the rest of the way!!!Go Kings Go!!!

It was great to be there now I’m wishing and hoping for a finals for our beloved Kings. That would be a treat I’d have to break the bank for a game. It would be worth every penny(dollar).
