This is a great way to reward and motivate the 'kids' - the Montral Expos used to do this every year - call up their best prospect at the very end of the year so they could understand the Major League system and get a feel for the work and effort required etc. For a while the Expos had the best farm system in baseball and this technique really seemed to help their young guys develop.

@BlackBiscuit,

Wow -- if we get 75% of that review he'll be a solid contributor. Can't say I have an opinion at all, but if the reviewer played pro-hockey then you have to assume he knows a fair amount.

@Jeff_R,

Schneider's performance in the first round should really boost Bernier's value as Van will likely promote Schneider now and try to deal Loungo (who won't be as popular for younger rebuilding teams - or poorer teams or cap challenged teams).

So with Schneider likely off the board Bernier becomes the #1 young goalie available assuming he is made available. Well, if not the #1, then the #2.

@DesertKing,

Don't worry. This is like the 88 Dodgers. If it's going to happen it will but in the most improbably way. Enjoy it for what it is.

Andreoff would be a great fit. Big, tough two way player that has ability to score and handle the rough stuff. Watched him in Oshawa. Guy is gonna be a stud!

@Wes, they needed him yesterday....for practice. the Starting goaltender doesnt always practice when theres only one day between games, and you usually need two goalies for practice. Ranford got to suit up which im sure was fun for the team but this is why you need an extra goalie around. when do i get to shoot you?

@Paul, There are at least 10 players ahead of him on the depth chart. Not just Loktionov.

@BlackBiscuit, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. You see the light as I do for the Kings having a special player like Tyler. I really think the Kings have been stagnant not playing Toffoli in any pre-season games the past 2 seasons and last 2 training camps
