Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on trying to limit the Blues’ scoring chances…)
BROWN: “That’s what the series is going to be like, is trying to limit the shots from the inside and make it really hard for them to get scoring opportunities. They had some good chances tonight, and again Quickie is there for us and we find ways to get timely and big goals.’’
(on Matt Greene’s shorthanded goal…)
BROWN: “I’ve seen him score goals. I haven’t seen him jump up on a PK before, so that was the surprising part for me. Being shorthanded, it’s a huge goal and obviously he made the right read. Greener, it’s hard to find him jumping up 5-on-5. To have him jump up and get a timely goal, shorthanded, is huge for us.’’
(on limiting those net-front chances…)
BROWN: “We were aware of their offensive abilities. With the way we play and the goalie we have, it’s important for us to protect the middle of the ice and try to limit those opportunities. They had a couple early, where they got in and Quickie made big saves. For whatever reason, we gave those chances up, but I think we did a pretty good job of correcting those mistakes and limiting their grade-A scoring chances the rest of the game.’’
