@Duncanz, There's that, or the Kings could just win 4 out of 7 against the Blues and move on to the 3rd round without a lot of fuss and bother... :)

@Pumpernicholl, Quick starts. No rest scheduled. The only time Bernier comes in is if Quick is injured or if we face Nashville, and Quick struggles. Nashville is the only team that Bernier has enough play against(7-0 vs Nash) for DS to have confidence inserting him. Even vs Nashville a healthy Quick starts all games as long as he is playing well.

@Pumpernicholl, I agree with everything you said. Which means, no he will not play in the playoffs, unless disaster strikes.

@ZimPuck,

I think its hilarious how Jim Fox is not growing a beard this year compared to his full, thick one last year. My wife gets a kick out of it and all the superstitions hockey players and surrounding people have. For me, I've had chicken every night they've won, so we're hoping for 12 more nights of chicken

The greatest issue to fear going into this series with St Louis is fear itself.
The Kings have demonstrated on numerous occasions during the regular season that they can get stalled in quagmires of lack of self-belief and spend significant time spinning their wheels with faltering progress.
It is of paramount importance to begin the series strongly, and not let up on intensity for any more than minimal phases during games. It's a given there will be drop-offs, but The Kings cannot cede momentum to The Blues for prolonged periods of games or the team psyche will slide back into a rut and be very difficult to revitalize and haul back out.
The Blues are kings of the 1-0 and 2-1 game. The Kings need to take the initiative and the reigns early and keep up a steady gallop.
This series is really going to be a battle between the strategies of the two wisened and wrought up coaches.
Ken Hitchcock has had his moments of mental meltdown - albeit in the distant past - but DS and The Kings need to endeavor to return him to this state of disorder.
It's going to be a tough race on a greasy track and The Kings need to be well primed.
I'm going to try and get on the ol' Greyhound and come over for a practice or two and I expect to witness plenty of cursing and curmudgeoning as Darryl's particular brand farmercology is imposed upon the troops.
It's a most wonderful time of the year!
