The Kings have wrapped up their morning skate. Brad Richardson again pronounced himself ready to play, and presumably will replace Andrei Loktionov on the fourth line. Kyle Clifford is on the ice for some post-practice conditioning skating, along with Scott Parse, with both wearing red no-contact jerseys. More notes and quotes to come.

saw this on the vancouversun from a vancouverite:
FYI: I’ve lived in Vancouver for almost 20 years. I don’t hate the Canucks – just not a fan. so I’m not biased. I follow players more than teams. I am a huge team Canada fan, so I like teams with a lot of Canadian content, skill and grit. Which unfortunately does NOT describe the current Canuck team. I did like them way back in late 90′s. Will become a fan again when over-rated whiner, puck hog and Canadian hater Ryan Kesler is no longer on the team. Wouldn’t complain if they moved Luongo and his giant ego either. As far as Sedin’s. great people…not my kind of player.

@Michael J., Like a lot others, held back by TM’s system, but learning how to play D under TM has helped get us where we are today, too. 1. Quick is in top form and of course has been all season.

3.Richards has given this team a playoff mentality of confidence and provided true on ice leadership by his hard_nosed play.
4. Sutter has these guys beleiving in themselves and each other.

It showed Dustin as a leader with respect for the toughness of the game but doing so in a manner that respects the safety of the game and then pointed out how cheap and dirty the Torres hit was no matter how you looked at it.

Apparently, Canucks reporters just told TSN Radio that Sedin will play tonight. I expect him to play.

@OttoKing, At first I was against him playing, mainly for his health and well being, but now, I hope he does play. I know what kind of player he is, but is he really going to be that much of a factor when he hasn’t been doing anything for the last six weeks? I think he will hurt his team more than help.

@spidey35, I read somewhere that if he played it would be in a very limited role, like only PP time…
AV must be very desperate if he thinks he should burn a roster spot to insert a specialist into it…
I hope the Kings take minimal penalties and even catch him with his head down… but he likes to play outside the crease, so he should be safe enough.

@OttoKing, I think they are nuts to play Daniel in tonight’s game. I think if he is available to play they should wait until game 7 if there is one.

Is there any Gagne updates?

@Rich Hammond,
We’ll assume that your answer is not a direct quote from DL

Why would they risk letting this guy play?
“I haven’t been able to work out and my shape is probably about as slow as it’s been in five years,” Sedin said. “I really wanted to be back for the playoffs, but my main concern was getting back to 100 per cent. It’s probably been the toughest time mentally that I’ve been through. I’m just happy to be back.”

I just took this comment from the Vancouver Canucks forum board (forum.canucks.com)
” I hope the Canucks go headhunting too…..keep your head up Doughty and Kopitar…it really seems that it is open season on stars this playoffs…you have to play the same way if you want to advance.
I wish that Torres was still a Canuck more than ever now.”
That was posted on a thread about Torres’ hit on Hossa that got him indefinitely suspended. These are the kinds of people that are Canucks fans. That’s why they are so hated throughout the entire NHL.

@TheAcaciaStrain, Wow – are you kidding me? This is ridiculous. PLEASE Kings, sweep these Canucks and send them golfing early!

Good to hear that Clifford has started skating again. The Kings 4th line has not been nearly as effective since he went down. Hopefully Richardson returning helps bring back some energy.

I expect the Canucks to come out fast tonight playing desparate hockey. If the Kings can weather the initial storm and score first, the Canucks might just start believing they can’t beat this Kings team and give up. Let’s Go Kings. Let’s finish this sweep tonight and make history.

thanks Paul Armbruster for setting up the you tube clip of Cliffy.
I’m sure Kyle is chopping at the bit to play. This is not his character to sit out ever………..better that he gets well though for sure. He has a long career to protect not just tonight.
And the Kings are going to kick some sorry Canuck *ss.
All good and if I haven’t said it lately coming from a Canadian, “thanks LA for beating up on the Canucks”.
