Scouting the Canucks

This is Game 4 in the best-of-seven, first-round playoff series between the Kings and the Vancouver Canucks. The Kings hold a 3-0 series lead. Daniel Sedin, a 30-goal scorer in the regular season, is expected to return to the Canucks’ lineup tonight and play for the first time since March 21. That’s when Sedin suffered a concussion that cost him the final nine games of the regular season and the first three games of this season. Sedin figures to give Vancouver’s power play a boost at a critical time, given that the Canucks are 0-for-14 on the power play in this season. Sedin scored 10 power-play goals during the regular season. At even strength, the Canucks will have a new-look first line, with Daniel and Henrik Sedin alongside David Booth. The Canucks are also staying with Cory Schneider in goal, after Schneider’s 19-save effort in a 1-0 loss in Game 3. Byron Bitz is eligible to play again, after his two-game suspension for his hit on Kyle Clifford, but is expected to be a healthy scratch, and the Canucks aren’t expected to make any change on defense. For the latest on the Canucks, check out the coverage from the Vancouver Province and the Vancouver Sun, followed by the possible lineups for the Canucks and the Kings…
