Brown postgame quotes (April 18)

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
BROWN: “We’ve got to push harder. I thought we played a pretty good game. Schneider was really good in net. We’ve got to push harder. If we want to win this series, it’s going to take more, from this room, to do so.’’

(on the hit from Henrik Sedin…)
BROWN: “I didn’t know who it was. I had a puck in my face, so my eyes were watering. I didn’t really know if it was my player, their player. I didn’t really know. Whatever hit me, hit me in the head. … I haven’t seen it. I had just got hit in the face with a puck, so I didn’t really know if it was my guy, their guy, a stick. I really didn’t know.’’

(on whether the upcoming three-day break is good or bad…)
BROWN: “Probably neither, I guess. We’re going to have to answer more questions from the media, but we’re also going to have more time to prepare and get ready to play Game 5. We’ve got to look at the positives and take advantage of this time and get ready to go.’’

(on the save on his penalty shot…)
BROWN: “It’s a big momentum swing for them. It’s goes from a (potential) 2-2 game to a 3-1 game in a matter of 20, 30 seconds. I made a move and he made a save.’’

Brownie and Koppie are doing the job it’s time for that second line of Richards and Carter to step up, we can’t be a one line team and win the cup much less the series

@Oldkingfan, agree when your talking about the score sheet. I thought Richards could have had 2 tonite and Cartsy is looking better on that foot, I think it was his best game of the series. However, end of the day, its the stat lines that count.

@Oldkingfan, thats not going to happen with King on that line. need to put penner there and see what happens. keep King Nolan and Fraser on the 4th and push richardson into the stoll line.

@brownie for president, I Think King is actually doing ok considering, maybe because you don’t expect as much from him as you do the other two. Let’s just hope we bring this one home Sunday GO KINGS !

@Oldkingfan, Agree 100%. Brown had a good game tonite as did Kopi. Brown just had a night where they just weren’t going in. The Penalty Shot, I thought was a good one. It’s a 50/50 proposition: he either scores or doesn’t. The Canucks come back 22 seconds later and score. That happens, especially in hockey, it seems.

Kings were close, but just not close enough. They could have come out a little hungrier, a little more of a killer instinct.

But really, a few bad bounces here and there, two PP goals by the Canucks, and none for the Kings. That was the real difference in the game.

    GO KINGS GO!

@mash-ola, Don’t forget Willimas post , I agree about the two PP goals being the difference.

@Oldkingfan, Ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since game 1, Richards, and especially Carter have done absolutely NOTHING in three games. If I was coach I would bench Carter for Game 5. I mean he didn’t even freakin’ hustle. He made Penner look like he was hustling. At least Richards hustles, can’t fault him for not trying, but Carter doesn’t even try. WTF!!!! Richardson had a great game. If Cliffy can come back for game 5 put him on the line with Richardson and Nolan or Fraser. Brownie didn’t wanna name names when he said, “we need more hustle”, but we all know who he is talking about. :-)

Many times Doughty looked lost on defense …losing puck to Canucks

@TheZamboniMechanic2, i thought doughty was our puck rushing defense. not only can he not play defense but now he cant play offense.

@TheZamboniMechanic2, Kings looked in slow motion in their own zone. Pucks being stripped, and having a tough time getting them out of the zone.

Yeah, I really thought that was a cheap shot that should have been called. The officiating definitely left a lot to be desired, from losing sight of the puck and failing to blow the whistle until after it was in the net to calling things based on who was in the action, to calling ticky-tack with less than half a period to go, it was bad…yet, if they’d taken care of business on the kill and the power play, they probably would have won.

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, That puck was in the net and ref waved it off. Another bad officiating group.

@wannabeking, Technically it wasn’t necessarily a bad call–just unfortunate. They’re supposed to blow the whistle if they lose sight of the puck, and if they have trouble blowing the whistle, the intent is all that matters. It looked sorta like that was the way it went down. The goal should count, but by rule, you can weasel it. The officiating wasn’t great, though. Nevertheless, the Kings didn’t play well enough to guarantee victory. This was more like game one and Vancouver got the bounces.

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, That exact play has been called a good goal against the Kings several times this season. Why now is it mysteriously waved off? It was clearly in, the replays were conclusive. That would have been 2-2 with the Kings having momentum. Instead, momentum lost and the Kings couldnt recover. Almost like it was scripted that way. Hopefully I’m wrong. I’m sounding like a Canucks fan now.

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, The goal by Bieskawas going wide and Richards tipped it back across the net and in, the third goal was suck a lucky bounce, it goes up high and Sedin swings and gets it just right, the guy is a star and stars make plays, The guys calling the game were brutal, but it was true the Canucks had many bounces go there way and the Kings didn’t get the bounces. Fraser has to not take that penalty, those type of useless penalties kill you. Kings will be better in Vancouver, as I think they will quit trying to be pretty and just crash the net, I never understand why they try the extra pass for the pretty play at home. Lets bring it hard Sunday Kings.

    What's the frequency, Kenneth? Reply:

@Lavamantis, the ref probably said (if asked) that he lost sight of it, and intended to blow the whistle, but didn’t get it blown when he intended. It was in when he blew it, but the referees can say the goal doesn’t count because they *intended* to blow the whistle before it went in. It was a big play, but it wasn’t “the reason” the Kings lost. They needed to play better, and they will next game.

Schneider is like quick he covers the bottom really well. Kings need to shoot the puck high maybe they can beat him there kind of like kopitars goal. Well onto Vancouver close it out in game 5

Lost a lot of respect for H. Sedin tonight. If you’re gonna hit a guy, do it the right way. Total gutless move to whack someone in the head while they’re down.

Pahleease!!!!! Why don’t you get on your knees while you’re at it!!! LMAO When Kopi lost an edge and went into the boards hard the announcers gave props to the D-man for making a nice move to throw Kopi off. REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF game you watching. No such thing happened. NBC Sports Network needs to get on their game and put their own unbiased commentators on cause watching game through CBC is just unbearable. GKG!!!!!!!!

Henriks elbow on Brown was as vicious as Duncan Keiths on Daiel. He received a five game suspension. This hit better be reviewed by the league.
