Canucks: Daniel Sedin coming to L.A.

This morning’s “View from Vancouver” post mentioned that the Vancouver Canucks’ final motivational ploy — down 3-0 in this first-round series — might be to bring in Daniel Sedin. Well, he’s coming. The Canucks, on their official Twitter account, posted this afternoon that Sedin will join the team for “full team practice” tomorrow. Sedin missed the end of the regular season with a concussion and did not play in the first three games of the series. It’s another twist in this series for the Canucks, after they did some line-combination shifting and then changed goalies for Game 3.

As for the Kings, the focus will be on attempting to play a much better game than they did in Game 3, and on attempting to close out the series without a return trip to Vancouver. Matt Greene was asked today about the Kings’ focus over the next couple days…

GREENE: “Just getting our rest and also just kind of regrouping a little bit. There are a lot of things, in the last two games, that they’ve really exploited on us. They’ve spent a lot of time in our zone and are getting a lot of chances, so we’ve got to address the mistakes that we’re making and come back and have a stronger game.’’

That answer was apparently inaudible for a CBC news reporter, who inexplicably followed it up by asking Greene, “How easy is it to be smug at this point?” In a credit to his professionalism, Greene actually dignified that absurdity with a response…

GREENE: “Pretty easy to avoid it. Hey, we’ve got another game to win here. They’ve got a high-powered team, and they’re going to come back. We know they’re going to have a good game. We’ve just got to keep playing. We’re lucky to be in this situation right now. We’ve just got to keep playing our game and keep going.’’
