Vigneault: Sedin won’t play

After today’s morning skate, Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that Daniel Sedin will not play tonight in Game 1 against the Kings. Sedin missed the final nine regular-season games after he suffered a conussion.

VIGNEAULT: ”There’s nothing new to report. He’s not going to play tonight.”

The Canucks are expected to skate with Mason Raymond on the first line, alongside Henrik Sedin.

VIGNEAULT: ”It is what it is. We’ve never talked about elements that we don’t have in our lineup. We’ve always played with the guys that are healthy and capable of helping this team. That line is going to have to find a way to do what they do. If we put Mason with Hank, it’s because I expect offensive production from that line. Hank has always been (on) one of our offensive lines, and I don’t see that changing tonight.”

The Kings will be on the ice for their morning skate shortly.
