Brad Richardson had an appendectomy last night, according to Darryl Sutter, and Richardson will be sidelined for an undetermined period of time. That’s the bad news for the Kings. The good news is that Jeff Carter seems ready to play, and Richardson likely would have been scratched from the lineup anyway. Andrei Loktionov has been called up from the AHL as an extra forward. More notes and quotes to come…
Get well Richie. Lokti?

@rogiesbackup, we don’t need Lokti, why……..should we get smaller down the middle, already Fraser as good as he is gets pushed off the puck in both ends, would you then sit Stoll, Richards or Kopitar?
Or do you play him on wing where he struggles to get pucks out or in due to his size, why would anyone ask this question do we bring up Lokti, really think about it……….

Why was he practicing if he just had that surgery?

@McDonalds, remember what sutter said, fraser has won the cup so no way we need that in there, cliffy and nolan need the experience cliffy was super solid last years playoffs, richardson sadly doesnt seem like the future of this organization, would rather give the young guns (our future) some experience.

@Guss, I like Fraser’s contributions this season as much as the rest of you, but he played THREE games in the post-season when Chicago won the Cup, all in the 1st round vs. Nashville. He was around the team when they won the Cup, his name might be on the Cup, but it’s not exactly Rob Scuderi/Justin Williams type experience winning the Cup.
P.S. Vancouver’s scoring depth is scary — 9 guys deep for netting the puck. Assuming Daniel is healthy, even if you shut down the top 2 lines, you still have to shut down Higgins, Hansen, etc. We gotta have goals from Penner, Lewis, Stoll and Clifford plus our top 6 to beat the Nucks… Go Kings!
P.P.S. Get well soon, Richie!

i would put lokti on the fourth line and maybe move lewis or nolan up a line, respectively…williams is probably gonna stay with kopi and brown…i’m not sure i would put lokti on the first three lines just yet…and depending on how he looks, i would probably limit his minutes to no more than 10…8 sounds realistic (unless we go into overtime, of course)…

@variable,
I don’t see DS switching up his 4th line. He uses them as an energy line and the last I looked, Lokti doesn’t fit that description.
Look back how often you would see Sutter go with the 4th line whether it was after a poor Kings PP or after giving up a goal to get the momentum back in our favor?
that’s a line I’m fairly certain he won’t fool around with..unless things go terribly wrong.
get well Richardson……
But dont understand why we need Lokti for

@Dominick (defrim65), Penner did a great job getting ouscored by a defensive defenseman, a rookie defenseman who played 10 less games, a forward who played half as many games, and Jarret Stoll in a bad year. He also did a good job bringing up the rear in +/- even though he logs far less ice time than several other players who are matched up against better opposition. There is such thing as doing well in spite of a player.

@Dominick (defrim65),
Kinda of strange huh? I didnt think that sort of thing just happens over night..I thought your appendix has to swell up for a while and is very painful he seemed fine on sat.
Anyway off topic kinda but I feel like playing mad scientist and giving my opinion of what the lines should look like here goes……
Brown-Kopi-Lewis—-maybe not the best idea to put Lewis on 1st line but this would create balance
King-Carter-Williams—-I think Williams would battle to set up plays and Carter can put that wrister to use
Penner-Richards-Stoll (Stoll is right handed right? I forget) ——I think if they can set up plays Penner can finish them he just needs to be fed
Clifford-Fraser-Nolan
Just my crazy idea I really think Cater needs to center a line so we can have 3 lines that can possibly score instead of 2.
