The Sharks have completed their morning skate, and they will return a familiar face to the lineup, as former Kings center Michal Handzus will replace Torrey Mitchell. Mitchell is out because of the hit he took from Colin Fraser in Thursday’s game. Handzus had been recovering from an injury. He returned and played three games but had been scratched from the previous three games. Here’s what Sharks coach Todd McLellan said about Handzus’ return tonight…
MCLELLAN: “We liked the way our four lines were playing. We liked the energy that we had from them. That kept Michal out of the lineup. It also gave him some time to heal. Now, him drawing an assignment to come in and play tonight, there are two things that it gives us. It gives us a big body and it gives us a faceoff guy, which we were poor in in L.A. for most of the game. It gives us a guy that can penalty kill and play on the power play, and it also gives him an opportunity to get his game together, at least once, before the playoff start.”
Come on Zus help the Kings out. As a conspiracy theorist this is exactly why you signed with SJ.

@CPMC29,
It was a little voodoo curse put on by the president stating that skilled hockey players will trickle down from the teams with the highest salary to the lowest (when somebody else better comes along, of course). I believe it passed a split NHL vote with Farris Bueller having the deciding, “Yes,” vote.

Even though it sucks to see a person injured.. it’s good they’re one down. Big night Kings.. Gotta take em tonight!

@Paul G, Get over it…
They lost because of the PK didnt do a good job..
Yea Quick wasnt at his best…But that was just that game..
Quick been stealing games for us this whole season..
Quick made this team make the playoffs…Without Quick we will be dead last.
Bernier had his shot but lost a game against a team that should of win but he fail badly in a shootout as much as Quick failed in a game against the sharks..Besides whoever thinks Sharks are a easy team are wrong

ummm thats definitely not the slow/offensively inept/faceoff-statue known as Handzus.

@Paul G, Handzus is a character guy. The stuff that he brings to your locker room you wont find on any stat sheet. Handzus is a great 3rd or 4th line center, especially in the playoffs with is height, reach, and playoff experience.

I hope this is the year that Quick becomes an elite goalie. Some people say he already is but to put the team on his back and go deep into the playoffs is his next step. Do that this year and we’ll have a contender for a long time. Otherwise…well you know!

OK, for all of us Kings fans that said we should trade Zeus because of his speed, let’s hope we can exploit that weakness to the maximum. Also, leverage that injury.
