Sutter postgame quotes (March 28)

Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…

(on knocking down Calgary’s playoff chances…)
SUTTER: “It’s not about that, right? It’s so tight. It’s like I talked this morning and the last time we were here. What’s the difference between sixth, seventh, eighth (in the conference)? One inch. That’s the way it is. They were coming off a big win. We were coming off a tough loss to Vancouver. That’s all that matters. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters.’’

(on the Kings’ playoff fate being in their own hands…)
SUTTER: “It has been. You don’t play the way we have in March and say it’s not in your own hands. It is. We’ve done an awesome job of that. The game we lost at home, before we came on the trip, we thought was our best game. We had won six straight, and it was the best game we played. It’s in your own hands. That’s the way you want it.’’

(on the strong start to the game…)
SUTTER: “It’s trying to have your own identity in it. That’s what you’re trying to do. When two or three guys drift away from it, that’s when you struggle with it. We don’t have the great veteran experience. If you look tonight, Cammy [Michael Cammalleri], Tanguay and Jarome, together they probably have more experience than our whole team in these situations. You’ve got to learn as you go, but you’ve got to try to be really good as you go.’’
