Game 77: Kings 3, Flames 0 (FINAL)

THIRD PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Kiprusoff.
Kings 3, Flames 0: Justin Williams scored an unassisted empty-net goal with 1:09 remaining.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Flames 30-19 as Jonathan Quick set a new single-season franchise record with his ninth shutout.

SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Kiprusoff.
Kings 2, Flames 0: The Kings took a two-goal lead 4:22 into the period. Dustin Brown entered the Calgary zone with the puck on the right side, then dropped a pass for Anze Kopitar and went to the slot. Kopitar passed back to Brown, who scored on a sharp wrist shot to the far post. Drew Doughty also picked up an assist on Brown’s 20th goal of the season.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Flames 7-6 in the period. The Kings went 0-for-2 on the power play and 0-for-1 on the penalty kill. The Flames will be on the power play for the first 1:10 of the third period.

FIRST PERIOD
Officials: Dan O’Rourke, Kevin Pollock (referees); Pierre Champoux, Mark Wheler.
Lineups: Davis Drewiske, Brad Richardson and Kevin Westgarth are the Kings’ healthy scratches.
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Quick against the Flames’ Miikka Kiprusoff.
Kings 1, Flames 0: The Kings recorded six shots on goal in the first two minutes, and got rewarded with a goal at the 5:30 mark. Willie Mitchell wound up for a slap shot at the left point with Justin Williams running traffic in front. The shot beat Kiprusoff, and Williams initially got credit for the goal, but it was changed to Mitchell, with assists to Anze Kopitar and Slava Voynov.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Flames 14-9 in the period. The Kings went 0-for-1 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
