Will Quick be rested and ready?

Jonathan Quick will make his 61st start of the season tonight against San Jose, but he is coming off a rare chance to get some late-season rest. Jonathan Bernier was in goal for the Kings’ victory over Nashville on Saturday, so Quick hasn’t played since Friday’s game against Anaheim. Three full days off might not seem like a lot, but for an NHL goalie in March, it can be gold. Given that the Kings have only 10 games remaining in the regular season — with one set of back-to-back games — and are in a playoff fight, it seems likely that Quick has received his last bit of rest. Darryl Sutter was asked about whether he thought Quick benefitted from the time away…

SUTTER: “We’ll find out. We’ll see, in the next few hours, how beneficial they were. … I was trying to make sure we got Bernie in again, right away. The way that was, it was almost four full days (off for Quick). That was the best time to do it.”
